There is a lot more to this that that video.
Actually, people here illegally originate from every country in the world, particularly Russia, Ireland, etc. They are hardly just from Mexico AND many do try to cross through Mexico -- or Canada -- or the Airports -- or docks --- Or the seashore.
That you seem to think the problem is just Mexico... again, shows your true feelings far more than your words.
Okay, look Player. I'm as for immigration (legal or illegal) as you are (probably more so).
However, why can't you just acknowledge, for once, that something that nobunaga or GabonX says is actually true, factual, and disgusting. This, for example, is disgusting. As long as illegal immigration is illegal, the law should be enforced. For you to go an argue something tangentially related without acknowledging the issue nobunaga is trying to raise is ridiculous.
Actually, as I did say I DO know a good deal about this. Doesn't it strike you as odd that he would be ORDERED not to stop illegal aliens? (other than those arrested in crimes?) That judges would take such extreme measures against a law enforcement officer ought to be a clue that there is more going on here.
This guy was not simply "stopping people he suspected to be illegal". He had an outright campaign of harrassment that included many people who were
legal.
As for the illegality being enforced-- yes and no. When a law is bad, it needs to be struck down. I am actually not for the repeated wholescale amnesty programs that merely shift anyone here into citizenship tracks. I do think an amnesty from prosecution of the workers is warranted, BUT, I would pair it with a greatly expanded guest worker type program (requiring all involved to have
health insurance, pay extra for local social services, etc.) AND some tightened rules for citizenship. (that last would have to be done carefully, we don't want to create an underclass of workers who are allowed to work for low wages then told to "go home", without any possibility of staying).
Basically, I feel the enforcement needs to be on employers who are the ones really benefitting from the current system, not on folks who just want to work.
