Why are you unwilling to answer these questions? Are you afraid of the implications?

Once again: do you believe the earth to be 6000 years old?

Do you believe that the theory of evolution is correct?

Simple questions, really. Yes/no answers will suffice.

I am not going to answer due to foreknowledge. You ask me one question, i answer, then based off my answer, you ask me a whole bunch more questions.
I don't want to argue right now. God bless you.

Ah, so you are avoiding the question.

I guess your faith wasn't very strong after all.

it's not an indication of my weak faith, it's my wisdom in not falling for your verbal trap you were setting me up for

now, are you avoiding the question? When was the Earth constructed? Is evolution real?

Your faith must be weak. Why else would you be afraid to answer two simple questions, if they are not threatening to your faith?

There's no trap involved. I simply wish to know what you believe in.

You're one to speak about avoiding questions. I asked first, so you'll have to answer first.

I never insulted you. Also, I don't have a faith, I'm an agnostic.

Now answer the questions or admit that your faith is weak.

No question about that. What's your point?

Want to answer those questions? I promise not to "trap" you. Whatever that means.

My point is that how can you say my faith is weak just because I choose not to answer some questions? Do you measure one's faith by how much they are willing to answer some questions? Do you think you're a good judge of faith just because you're an agnostic?

I feel sorry for some of yall. Always arguing about some things that don't matter. Like arguing what blue looks like. We all have some sort of concept of blue but that doesn't mean we perceive blue in the same way. Another thing, why do yall always contribute human feeling, emotions, and actions to a supreme being. The only people that can love us is us ourselves. Get your heads out your asses and out your damn bibles and go outside and experience what is real and not what is written by a bunch of nutters a few thousand years ago. Experience and interaction with nature and people is where you find the supernatural, not in some book where you argue over what words they said in greek or hebrew. Or better yet, read other ancient religious text and not the ones you deem fit to read.

Well, it's not definite proof, but it definitely is suggestive when you're afraid to answer two simple questions... As you've said you are afraid that I'm going to "trap" you somehow with those questions, it suggests that possibly you're afraid that your faith won't hold up to closer scrutiny if you engage in any sort of rational discussion about it?

I don't know, I'm just trying to understand why you are unwilling to discuss rationally about your religion. You're the one who came posting to this thread, after all, I didn't drag you here or anything.

Well, i realize that "rationally discussing my religion" will not help people come to Christ, which is my objective. I read the previous posts, and it seems to me that the more I "rationally discuss my religion" the more you want to fight it.
God loves Christians, agnostics, and aetheists alike. He loves you even though you don't love Him. He's waiting for you for when you decide to come back to Him, arms wide open.

You're suggesting he's less intelligent or not utilising part of his brain to the point of not even being in control of it because he knows God more intimatly than you? LOL.

So, then, if he didin't make sin, he didn't make all things? Why would he lie to us like that?

So, God decided to punish me and you for something that some people thousands of years ago did? I wouldn't way that is LOVE, I'd say that is just being rude and unpleasant guy.

I'm the same as you. I don't like it or understand. I realise that is because I am like a child that doesn't understand when their parent forces them to eat something nutritious for a meal instead of candy. My four year old gets angry and tells me, "I don't want to eat this. Why do I allways have to eat everything I hate."

Which is more loving, teaching my children that cars can hurt them so they need to make sure the driver is stopped and it is to let them cross, or holding their hands when they cross so if I'm not there they don't understand how to do it safely for themselves?

Interesting analogy- when would you say God is "not there".

...Intimately? Really? Wow, must be the best sex in the universe.

Seriously speaking, no, I'm not suggesting he's less intelligent. I'm suggesting he lacks critical thinking skills because he refuses to question his worldview or discuss it rationally. Instead he spends his time preaching and feeling smugly superior for "knowing" the truth... indoctrination can be a bitch to ditch.

I wouldn't say LOL though, because it kinda makes me sad to think about.

2dimes wrote:I realise that is because I am like a child that doesn't understand when their parent forces them to eat something nutritious

A child believes what his parents tell him and doesn't question them. When the child grows up, he learns to think for himself... and stops believing in things that don't make any sense just because they make him feel warm and fuzzy inside.

2dimes... perhaps it's time to grow up?

Which is more ethical?

Stating go kill muslims in the name of christ, or saying I no longer want anything to do with your religion that espouses hate?
