I think the reason I hate lebron so much is from 3 things he's done in his career:

1. beating the wizards in the playoffs like 3 years in a row when Arenas, Butler, and Jamison were at their primes/end-of-primes
2. "The decision", just because it was so self-important. And then the whole "not 1, not 2..." and the party that went along with him and bosh moving down to miami
3. after losing in the finals last year, telling the reporters something along the lines of "people are going to hate, but i'm gonna keep doing me, and they're just going to have to go back to their lives". Again, making himself so much better than everyone else

Yea, I'll concede that he made stupid PR moves, but it has nothing to do with him showing up in the playoffs. Like I said in the NHL thread, I at least understand when people call Crosby a pussy (though I disagree) but to say he "sucks"? Are you kidding me?

If it ends up being a Heat-Thunder match-up, I am not sure who I would cheer for. But if the Celtics make it to the Finals, easily cheering for the Thunder since I always cheer against Boston and LA whenever a team is playing them.

Fucking great game from the Big 3. Lebron attacked the basket like a madman all game and that's what we need. Last year against the Mavs Lebron was just settling with jumpers and it came back to hurt him.

I got the Heat in 7, though I expect OKC to win the first, considering it's on the road and we're coming off an emotional 7 game series. I'm banking on OKC's inexperience to hurt them, especially if Lebron can make Durant miss. Westbrook is definitely, in my mind, their weakness, and if we can get him to chuck up jumpers, we should win.

It depends on who's other-than-big-3 show up though. If Iblocka shoots as well as he did in the second half of the Spurs series, we're in shit. If Battier is hitting his threes and Chalmers is slicing through the lane, they're in shit.

oh, and I know that now it's trivial now, but last night I had a dream that Bosh would be fired up for this game. It had something to do with someone saying Bosh sucked or something and then in a press conference Bosh was like "f*ck that guy".

so, I guess it was a sign.

OKC in 5. They'll go up 3-0, sit all of their starters and play with a 7 man rotation consisting of role-players in game 4.

The motivation of being shat on by the heat starters will motivate the bench players from okc, and the starters will be well rested for a championship clinching win at home, as all championships should be won (aside from the super bowl, traditionally played in a neutral stadium, barring the occasional coincidental championship berth of the host city's team)

The Boston Celtics certainly made Heat fans nervous in Miami last night.
Army of GOD wrote:I have been called the Nostradamus of my time.

I only remember the dumbass part.

Thunder/Heat is definitely the best matchup for the NBA Finals,
and I'll be pulling for OKC all the way. This should be great.

Lebron is certainly a basketball beast with enormous athletic ability
and his lack of grace in defeat when coming up short is epic now.
His attitude that all the pathetic cretins who are harsh critics about
his playoff performances can resume their miserable petty lives, while
he collects his bulbous paychecks and lives large will always enable me
to cheer on his failures to win a championship. James disrespecting
the fans of the game, who are the reason he even has the opportunity
to cash in his hard court talent, is the ugly side of his character.

James is so good he has few peers and no reason to be humble,
but can be a PR nightmare as doesn't handle the super star crown
particularly well.

I'm kinda pulling for LeBron now that so many people hate him and want to see him fail. I like athletes like that in a weird way. For example, I hated Vick until he got out of prison, Burress until he Plaxidently shot himself and went to prison, and I like tiger woods more after his personal life imploded.

It seems that LeBron tried so hard to get people to like him for so long and it just backfired on him for various reasons, which of, course he contributed to.

All the athletes you mention are underdogs making comebacks from stupid decisions,
except for Lebron James. I tend to pull for the underdogs in sports most of the time
and Lebron is no underdog, he's been an underachiever. So fuck him.

The Heat announced to the world that they expected to win multiple NBA Championships
and dominate professional basketball with the addition of James and Bosch last year.

ughhh. I'm so fucking excited to watch this series.

What I'm hoping is that the Heat win this year but for the next few years it'll be Thunder vs. Heat in the finals. The Thunder have so much young talent and the Heat, for the most part, are pretty young too, so I can definitely see both teams just owning their conferences.

I also think the OKC has a dynasty in the making, but they will come just short this year while the get rid of the rest of there growing pains out of their system.

Gotta be a tough pill for Lebron to swallow, watching KD, the guy he beat out for MVP to do what he couldn't do last year in the 4th quarter.

The heat can only win this series if they win every game in a blowout (which I think someone in here already said, and if not, I read it on ESPN or something). If it's within 10 in the 4th quarter, that's ok, as we saw them do in Dallas. If they're down 15 at half, they can still win, as they did in San Antonio. And it's all because they have the legs and the best finisher in the game. Kevin Durant.

f*ck KD. He's such a good shooter. So many times we contested his shots yet he still drained them.

Bosh and Wade played really passively and we can't have that. We wasted a good game by Chalmers and Battier.

Game 2 is huge. Lebron needs to shut KD down. I don't want to see Battier on KD at all in the fourth. Hopefully we can get Westbrook to jack up jumpers.

I think the biggest problem for the Heat moving forward is defense. They don't have enough people to guard all of the Thunder weapons. Bosh has to take one of the big men, but who gets the other? Lebron? That leaves KD. If you put Lebron on KD and Wade on Westbrook, well then good luck because Sefalosha is still capable, as are Fisher, Harden, and to a degree Cook. If Perkins or Ibaka go into foul trouble, apparently Nick Collison can clean the glass like a pro.

The Thunder, like the Celtics tried to do before them, really only need to stop 1 guy, 2 now that Bosh is healthy. But Perkins/Ibaka got Bosh covered pretty well I'd say, and it's not like he's putting up 30 a game anyway. They can live with Lebron getting 40, if that means Wade is struggling. And they don't even really need to cover any of the Heat perimeter shooters, because as we saw tonight, even if they get hot for a quarter or a half, you can't shoot 60% from 3-point land for a whole game, let alone a whole series of games.

This OKC team learned a lot in last season's playoffs
and added a few key pieces to their mix and just like
the Mavs last season... are ready to get it done now.

Having gotten past the Mavs, Lakers and Spurs this time
it's only fitting to beat the Heat for a NBA Championship.

Durant & Westbrook are an awesome combo and there are
plenty of other impact players on the roster now to pick up
any slack.

If Game One is any indication of how this series will go?
This NBA Finals will be as tight and exciting as last year.
