Well that doesn't stand up, statistically.

The second poll might not be as stiff a competition as this one, or vice versa. For example, would Jay get so many votes on the new one or not? How would this poll be affected by the removal of jay's entry, considering the heavy speculation about joke votes, or the plague of jay's clique coming in to vote?

Meaning, the whole thing is stupid. Why even perpetuate this? Oh, that's right, because we're all so starved for attention and recognition that a poll on a website actually counts as external validation.

Coffeecream deserves respect for putting out an honest question and honestly listening to the answers, then taking a beating for standing up for what he believed, even though he was pretty new to it.

On the opposition, MeDeFe is the only one who I have seen to debate without resorting to ridicule and namecalling.

Edit: Maybe Jones the curl too, but he's pretty new(to me anyway), it's kind of early to tell.

There is also the question of why people are respected: some are respected for their debating skills, some for their hardiness, some for their biting insults, some for being funny. What did we like about Jay again? (naughty, jonesy. You were being quite polite for a moment there).
