Come to terms with the fact that American intervention in Kosovo was an act of collective-security in order to prevent Serbian funded and co-ordinated genocide yet?

Lol, these are brillliant. Maybe you should read Wikipedia and see what USA's role was in Kosovo.

It was a UN mission is all I know and that means it was at least 40% funded and staffed.

Well since you seem to disagree, perhaps you'd be so kind as to point out where I am in error. After all, you seem to be some sort of expert.
Either you misunderstand what I said earlier and we are talking at cross purposes, or else you have a fascinating perception of precisely what occured in Kosovo.
If you're going to argue that the act of collective-security in which the USA was involved was in fact something else; then I'd appreciate it if you could explain to me the significance of the recent International Court of Justice ruling on the matter; which unwaveringly supports the propostion of mine that you've quoted. Indeed, I took the liberty of casting my eyes over wikipedia (which is by no means the first time I've read about the subject) and that too supports my proposition with which you seem to disagree.

I do hope that there's been some sort of misunderstanding between us Titanic, I normally respect your posts, but that one just seems perverse...
Please explain to me why you think I am in error, or else explain what you believe occured in Kosovo in 1999.

Jagshemash Gingis friend!
Always a pleasure to make hellos with you. Favourite of my pen-pals you have become in last weeks.
Your imagination accurate to within short distance, many assumption you make verified. I congratulate, we drink toast on the agreement. Skaal!
Sorry though to hear your drinking has gone out of the hand. Was foolish to engage in contest if you know it is problem for you; but old habits are the hardest dieing? No? Hope you will not undertake all 40, but have learn lesson after 1. Am not here to judge.
Must however warn you about these 'games', if that is what you name them. Have told in last letter am not one of these men like in rifles. Is your own business, but does not arouse to me; please not to offer in the future. Do not wish to venture into chocolate starfish, or to drink from spam javelin. Thank you for invite you make, but please not to be inviting again; answer always is no. Rules all equal in Eurp, and much tolerance for lifestyle you have choose I have. But not wish to indulge on my own behalf.
Friendliest tidings until next we speak.

You mean this POS?

Image

Thats an M76 Sniper Rifel (Yugoslavia), the only Kalishnakov made sniper rifle. Fires a 7.62mm round. Weak. [/img]

M=model (as far as i know) it;s not 76 (year of make) , it's ALLWAYS the year of design . "weak"...yes , compared to your supersonic uranium shit.
what's a "pos"?
THAT'S THE ONE!!!!! ...i took home with me....when you people came...twice!!!!

7.62mm for snipers is actually pretty good, if all you need is a gun that will stop a man dead cold in his tracks. While .50 cal./12.7mm is great if you need to blow through a brick wall to hit the guy or defeat any type of personnal armor (and then some). Even though the M-16 uses 5.56mm for armor-piercing capablity, 7.62 is better at stopping power.

US President Bill Clinton was however extremely reluctant to commit American forces for a ground offensive.

America only really entered Kosovo after Blair urged Clinton to help.

Thats what I meant. The original post makes it sound like America by itself went with its own morals and saved Kosovo from the serbs without much help from other countries, when the reality is very different.

Oh good. I'm glad we don't actually disagree; sorry if my original post made me sound like I didn't think the act of 'collective-security' involved nations other than America. I've always liked you...

Written by an Australian Dentist...

To Kill an American
You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is . So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

"An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.

The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan . Americans welcome the best of everything...the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least.

The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built A merica .

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told tha t the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself . Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
