while its probably irrelevant...

there is probably sociological theory that would hold wickeds point to be more or less true, when abstracted out. Id search for some, if it really was an issue.

I don't see your point. What Wicked said is clearly true.
You don't need to support every point you make with a Phd or a massive statistical study.
The fact that kids want to fit in is simply true.
Lovely of you to join the discussion tho'

lol obviously not an expert, just what I've seen and experienced firsthand. I've always considered real life to be a better teacher in some regards. ;-) For example, I'm half Spanish, half Irish, so what do I check on forms? I'm forced to choose either Hispanic or White most of the time, although some newer forms I see have "White, Hispanic" and "White, non-Hispanic". So if I'm in high school trying to get into college, or applying for a job, if I check Hispanic I get accused of trying to use my race to "help" me along since these places have quotas. Or I get looks if I check Hispanic because I appear white. I've gotten to where I choose Hispanic on medical forms since that is relevant there, but "white" everywhere else. So did I "choose" my white side? Not really. I still identify with my mom's side of the family (the hispanic side) and haven't "denounced" that part of my heritage.

Its lucky for you nesterdude I've had a recent warning for flaming

So, dear CC-er, old chum, bestest bud, and super intelligent being, I merely say, to no -one in particular:

POOP.

I assume you are a Sixth Former (16-18 year old) or something? That was the sort of cool "Ah, but everyone is different comment i thought was clever at that age".

*sigh* no, not EVERY single child in the universe wants to fit in.
But most do, the vast majority do.

But it would be great if you could pop back in ant some point, when we are going off - base and remind us "Not all human beings like music, Suggs" or some other earth shattering comment.

God, I like you so much

Here here, I'll agree with the Real Life experience...
Well said and supported.

OH and Suggs, if I could wend my way through that dribble, I could respond, but I am neither young, nor of low education...that should suffice.

S'far as I can tell, the Cato Institute is estimating Obama's programmes at a cost of $800bn, whilst the NTU is saying he'll raise yearly federal tax by $300bn, but Laffer curve enthusiasts such as I would say he's going to have to raise the tax rate higher and higher each year to levy that same amount extra as time progresses. I guess the rest of the funds will come from issuing bonds or getting state and local to increase tax.

Maybe if you'd actually listened to the speech, rather than listen to the sound-bite on FOX News, you'd know how to finish the "Yes, we can!" sentence.

I couldn't get myself through the rest of this -- you're obviously quite deluded as to Obama's experience and motivations.

OK, I'd like to know one thing, and if anyone can explain that would be great.

Why, during his term as an Illinois State Senator did he vote "present" more than 130 times on bills that discussed crime, guns and abortion instead of taking a stand by voting "yes" or "no"?

How does someone who not only doesn't vote and only sponsored one bill through the Senate be an advocate for change when he didn't use his terms to effect change?

I don't know, but I can't comment on something which I don't know all about. Senate politics, for one. Maybe those bills had earmarks. Politics is muddy and convoluted; that's all I can say about that.

LOL You Obamalovers sure hate FOX :?
OK SO.. Obama's experience lets get to it... Elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996,then actively In the Senate since 2005..1 year of foreign policy experience,so thats on the job training for him once you wackos elect him,he has a fundamental misunderstanding of history and a basic lack of knowledge about the military.

As for his motivation I will choose my words carefully. He is motivated by(in my opinion only!!)his Muslim upbringing I know he had at least 4 years in Muslim school in Jakarta in his book that he wrote himself he says he wasnt raised in a religious household,I am not making this stuff up
and FYI I did listen to the speech and I know the finish to Yes!WE CAN! its not good at all. I am not not calling him a muslim or saying muslims are bad people, just the ones that hate America's very existence! I think it would be a bad thing for the US to have anyone no matter who in the position of President who was motivated by Muslim beliefs .

Let's see... how many good Presidents had much foreign policy experience? Not many, I assure you.

He has a fundamental misunderstanding of history? Where do you get this from? Somehow I doubt a guy who used to teach Constitutional Law is so ignorant of history...

And he may not know much of the military (though somehow I think he knows more than most) -- but that's why one has advisors. Obama has the kind of personality that will listen to people (unlike some recent Presidents), so this really shouldn't be an issue.

As for his motivation I will choose my words carefully. He is motivated by(in my opinion only!!)his Muslim upbringing I know he had at least 4 years in Muslim school in Jakarta in his book that he wrote himself he says he wasnt raised in a religious household,I am not making this stuff up

I don't think you do need that much experience. After all, no matter what experience you may have had, nothing will adequately prepare you for the greatest job in the world.
Truman and Johnson had prior WhiteHouse experience, and few people would claim they rank amongst the great Presidents.

Thats why the President has advisors and experts -frankly I would be more worried if some one like Colin Powell (well, he seems cool, but i mean an ex-military man) got the job, because specialists tend to enjoy their specialities, and also not to know too much about anything else.

The President is meant to give GENERAL direction, an overall impetus to policy making, and to hopefully inspire those around him. Some coherent ideological drive is also probably a good idea, to prevent aimlessness, fudge and confusion.

I could't give a rats arse whether Obam has had 20 or 2 years Senatorial experience -as long as he is intelligent, hard working, inspirational and decisive, I'm sure he'll do a grand job.

AWESOME! He's a muslim because he had education in a "muslim" school, even though it's probably hard to find a non-muslim school in jakarta?
Didn't you assert that the america-hating christian preacher was a bad influence and obviously means he hates jews and stuff?

I am not not calling him a muslim or saying muslims are bad people, just the ones that hate America's very existence!

Well I gathered you didn't call him not a muslim. However, you are pretty quick to call almost all muslims (at least the black ones running for president who aren't actually muslims) america-haters, so I can't help but feeling that you're calling all of them bad people.

Honestly, how do you come up with this shit? Do you just blindly repeat what Fox-news tells you? Is there even a shred of reasoning ability in you?

I dont really call this an argument but--- your wrong. I was unsure about obama till all the "church" issues he had. Plus, i stronly believe he only took on christianity only so he could run for presidency. I mean come on, if he stayed muslim, people would have LAUGHED at him! And i also hate all muslim america haters, but that is NOT to say i hate alll muslims!!

Muslims aren't America haters. People are America haters. You all make it sound like it is an us and them issue.
