I seriously doubt it. For most of us, this forum is what keeps us from being wholesalely (is that a word?) off-topic in the other forii.
I think the mods recognize that and strongly prefer to keep it that way.

One can always hope, just imagine a "Logic Dictates" thread in GD.

Everything combines to make for a really great place to carry on visiting. When you finish playing your games a decent forum is a welcome distraction.

I doubt we will ever experience someone as eloquent and intelligent as DM if this site carries on for 10 more years.

There is only a few names of people I can pick out of the crowd on here... and he was one of them. For his off-topic humor that I rather enjoyed.

It must be a tough decision as a mod to perma-ban someone who the community has had such a long history with. I bet they would have loved to just give him another warning/vacation, but they felt they couldn't keep doing that, they had to follow through with the next punishment.

I would have preferred a 1 year ban or something, at least then we know he is coming back sometime, perma ban is like... nobody is ever going to see him again.

Can a user fight a permaban after a while? Claiming to be a changed man? If so please PM me, I won't be reading this post anymore, it grows too fast.

Seriously, DM could at times be annoying, swollen-headed, repetitive, insensitive, and just plain wrong. I was surprized when he reappeared a coupla months back that he wasn't thrown out almost immediately, since he came in swinging, and wasn't even always funny with it.

But after that he reverted to his normal acerbic, sarcastic, clever, funny self. And he made a damn good try to get the various god-threads sorted rationally for a serious attempt at 'em. I don't know what happened in the last coupla weeks, but frankly Andy the examples you've given are nonsense.

DM, respect to ya.

And if you see an old fat curly loud-mouthed atheist in a pub somewhere in the next coupla weeks, talking cobras, buy him a pint. It just might be me.

I would like to congratulate the mods on banning that free-thinking liberal Dancing Mustard. Too long have the fora fostered intelligence, wit, and constructive thought. Characters such as DM, and the plethora of others who have received permanent "vacations", serve only to make this a more interesting, engaging, and communicative venue for people of all walks of life across the globe, which is downright intolerable. This sort of pluralism leads to the curse of the West, freedom of speech, and heralds inconvenient notions such as democracy, free thought, wisdom, expression, and finally entertainment. I applaud the mods for their belligerent and bellicose attitude towards liberty, and their inconsistency in dishing out justice, bravo sirs.
