Honestly couldn't tell you the difference between lo mein and chow mein tbh. That's Canto food. I'd go with chow though given that you probably can't go too far wrong with friend noodles.

But I prefer beef noodles to both :D

I'm pretty sure at some point he told us he lives in the SW corner of Peking, so I think that's what the SW stands for. Only the DK is unexplained. Discussion Killer, maybe?

chow/chao means 'stir fried', lo/lao means 'stirred'. The difference is that the lo mein is cooked in soup, whereas the chao mein is fried and therefore drier and tougher once it's prepared.

So actually thinking about it, to go back to my earlier answer I should've said I prefer lo mein. Fried noodles are gross.
