Mine is just taken from Middle Earth. Nothing really special, I have a few other names that I use in other web sites.

Mine is from a programming error (or a math error if you're a math geek - I am not).

I had a whole series of servers at a previous job that were all named for errors or ways to crash: coredump, segfault, abend, crash, etc. It just carried over into a couple of other accounts and then here.

Well, I didn't exactly top it, so to speak.

To start, I got them back individually by playing simple practical jokes, like tying doorknobs together (I live in a dorm, so this works perfectly), filling umbrellas with flour so that once they open up, the person holding it gets covered in flour, putting worms in peoples shoes, simple stuff like that.

But I did have a Coup de Grace.

Firstly, you must know that the door knob to one of my friends rooms was really fucked up. The locking mechanism was reversed for some reason. So you could lock the inside of the room, but the outside was always unlocked.

So one night, me and my friends had decided to watch a movie in my friends room (the one with the reversed lock). Fortunately, he had just stocked up on Axe (the deodorant that reeks, especially if you put too much on) earlier that week.

I went in earlier in the day and stole all of my friends Axe.

Fast-foward to the night that I'm watching the movie. I leave to "go to the bathroom" Instead, I grab all of the Axe that I stole earlier. I get some duck tape, and tape down the button that sprays the Axe. I open the door just a crack, then toss it in.

Now repeat the above process 5-6 times.

All of my friends puked. All over the place. Now imagine that mess. Axe + Puke + Smelly dorm room = Living Hell.

I was satisfied.

Well, I was threatened by numerous authorities. They all said that I should, but they entrusted the decision to my friends.

I happened to have blackmailed them, by telling them beforehand that if they had the decision to make me clean it up, I would tell the deans about the previous incident (that one with the frat house).

So I didn't have to clean up anything. :D

To get back on topic...

The1exile: tbh I've nebver remembered exactly why I picked it. At the time I'd been playing Baldurs Gate 2 (great game) and the exile bit I picked up from there. I put the1 on because for my old alias it ad started with the_one (because you just can't use your own name as it is, cuz some other smartass will have nicked it) so that was shorenend, and it changed from my name to exile... and I liked it, so it stuck.

Sometimes known as SniperChief instead, on some FPS games/mailing lists.

but i havent come close to anything that good. The best joke ive ever done was probably.....

It was at camp when I was 12. We all came to eat lunch. I came earlier cuz a bunch of girls were attacking me cuz i beat them in a game of soccer. So i took all the tobasco sause and poured it into their juice pitchers. I then mixed it up so it wouldnt show. They tasted it and were crying and mad and crap like that...

As you know from my avatar I am a Pokemon fan.

The name Fircoal comes from one of my fake POkemon that I made up. I have lost the drawing but I made a new design for it. I picked it because I needed a name quick for an internet thing, and I didn't want numbers at the end. SO I picked my favorite fake pokemon of mine. The name Fircoal also has a meaning that relates to the Pokemon I made. But I'm not saying that.

I am (on my father's side) English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish, and a little French, and (on my mother's side) 1/4 Serbian, 1/4 Hungarian. So I picked one. Few people I know had heard of Serbia, so I went with that.

one day i was trying to make an account for a game, Red Alert 2 (Yuri's Revenge). so i kept thinking and trying out names, but most of them were taken or you had to add a long-ass number at the end. so i just chose Hitman, and since THAT name was already taken, i chose a cool number- 079. (i like numbers with a 9 at the end, and a 0 to start)

like 069? ...comon you knew that was coming...

oh yeah static_ice...well my old name was electrotuned, named after one of my favorite DDR songs (but no one remembers it) so thats where the static came from

the ice came from...well my "symbol" was three hexagons connected, which I got from halo 2 and the background art of the song electrotuned...I was gonna put three hex's as my avvy but didn't have time so I quickly put this zombie dude there, and now ppl remember me by him...

...anyway so one day I realized that ALL snowflakes are hexagonal, so I should incorporate some kind of winter element on my symbol...but I didn't wanna put snowflake or icicle cause thats just pansyish...so I thought "ice" was the least feminine

...but I didn't wanna put ONLY ice, so I also put static for me to remember what my old name was...

and the "_" was there because in the old sites I was on, you couldn't use spaces in names, so I used the underscore...but you can use spaces in CC, which is why I wish I could change my name...
