go and talk politics on a political forum where you might just get some different opinions. f*ck off somewhere else, where just maybe, someone else might just want to engage you in a discussion that's different to the regular nutjobs in here.
When I want to talk or discuss politics, I do it on an English Newspaper forum.
Are your lives so fucking boring that you feel the need to bring that boredom into an online risk game forum? Sign up to an American Newspaper website and talk politics there, not here.

I know I was generalizing (as you spell it) but this forum has just become an American Political / Religious based thread fest. I'm sorry for generalizing, but It's only the yanks who are so het up about this shit.
I went down the pub last night to play poker and whilst having a fag break, this bloke i know called mike asked me how was work.
I looked at him and said, Mike, I'm down the pub. I'm here to get away from work. don't talk about work, talk about something interesting. he said yeah right, hows the family?
I looked at this prick and thought, do you really have anything interesting going on inside your head? finished my smoke and went and got another beer leaving him outside.
he's a boring cunt as well...
If I had my way, this forum would be broken down into three sections.

So you come into this forum to find fun and are pulled against your will into the political threads? Does it hurt?
First, your characterization is ridiculously incorrect. There are a number of non-Americans who comment on politics. Further, there are a number of Americans who regularly participate in the forum who do not comment on politics at all.
Second, and seriously, are you incapable of not reading political threads? Like I don't read the threads on crap I don't want to read about. I'm not like, "Fucking football thread by the goddamn Brits." I don't like soccer, I don't read about it on CC.

As a Brit who regularly posts in threads on US politics, I can't say that my opinions are particularly welcome.

I think it has more to do with your style of conversation.
Having a cyber-eplilpetic fit when a lunatic shows up to a "Tea Party" rally carrying a handgun, for instance, is a little humorous coming from someone sitting in a country engulfed in a 40 year old civil war where ambushes and car bombings are facts of life, with a dozen different militias having arms dumps around the country, the police being accused of conducting street executions, in a country where thousands of organized Nazis regularly storm through villages rounding-up minorities and in which the entire nation erupts into weeks of civil unrest every summer like clockwork.I understand that the mindset of Britons is that Ulster is a "freebie" and "doesn't count", EDL attacks are "media hype and happens in all countries!" and Britain is just going through some growing pains which result in the summer riots, but most Americans (or anyone else) don't get any of that - it comes across as super-bizarre ... like a man with two broken limbs and an eviscerated abdomen lecturing someone with a bandaid on his finger to be more careful.
You'll notice that no one has an issue when the Canadians here comment. Nor has there been an issue with me commenting on USA politics. Just you.

You wanted to know why people react poorly to your comments in USA politics threads - I gave you the answer. Don't shoot the messenger.I mean, really, think about it - your country is engulfed in a protracted, violent insurgency by armed political parties who detonate car bombs outside parliament and deploy combat squads trained in North Africa to stage ambushes using automatic weapons, and you post in here comments tut-tutting about whether "XYZ" American radio host is making comments that could hurt civil discourse in the U.S. You understand how people would find that a little ... well, weird, no?
Listen, I'm just trying to give you an indication of why your posts get the reaction they do. You can believe it or not, whatever.

I'm pretty willing to discuss virtually any problem in the UK. I'd genuinely like it if there were more discussion, and I've been pretty open to anyone who wants to talk about British politics or most any other issue. You often seem to take basic corrections, honest opinions, and general facts as some sort of knee-jerk nationalism on my part.
I'm not usually happy if it involves derailing a thread entirely, but I've been pretty open about my thoughts. Can you say the same?

Once again, it has nothing to do with your openness or lack thereof in discussing the UK. You started a thread decrying a U.S. radio host for making a chauvinist statement with the implication this is part of growing "extremism" in the US

Which thread? This sounds like the issue you're bothered with might be going back a while. There's no need to be cryptic- just say and let people judge me.

As I said, not bothered at all. Just answering your questions. And no specific example - just the vast canon of your work.
Symmetry, have you heard of the sitting U.S. state governor who, in the '70's, received 8 weeks of combat training in Francoist Spain with the aim of overthrowing the U.S. government and once delivered a RPG to insurgents with the aim of blowing up Obama's car?I haven't either.
I have heard of the sitting UK "state" First Minister who, in the '70's, received 10 weeks of combat training in Algeria from the Baader-Meinhoff gang's drill instructors with the aim of overthrowing the UK government and once delivered a RPG to insurgents with the aim of blowing up Queen Elizabeth's car. And is now governing 25% of the UK.It sounds really laughable, therefore, when you make posts about "growing extremism" in the US or tut-tutt Todd Palin or whatever his name is for once having a bumper sticker of the Alaska Independence Party on his car. Eventually, for some Americans - as they don't have very good senses of humor to begin with - that laughter turns to irritation. Again, I don't care either way, I'm just letting you know why people react poorly sometimes to your comments.
