Well then why don't you provide your made up definition of the word apostate. An apostate is anyone who renounces their religion, political belief or principle. None of which is any justification what so ever for execution. Not to make an example of, not as a warning to others, not for any reason, period.
Saudi Arabia is executing apostates, you said Saudi Arabia is executing terrorists, therefore it is no stretch of logic if one infers from you that you believe apostates are terrorists.
Thus, you must believe that every atheist, protester, whistleblower, or politician that changes parties are all terrorists and thus deserve to be executed. So please do, clarify. Keep on defending Saudi Arabia.
And for the record, I'm a veteran as well (Yeah us!<high five>). There is absolutely nothing wrong with Saxi highlighting Saudi Arabia and pointing out what he believes they are about. That doesn't make it right for you to denounce him as "unAmerican". As a veteran you made took an oath (as I did), to uphold and defend the Constitution. With your type of coercion you are shitting all over your oath.
It is absolute, indisputable fact that the Saudi Arabia government is totalitarian, thugish and frankly, evil.
And you're right, the US is not the world police. Thus, not only should you not be calling Saxi unamerican, you should be saying to people like Bernie Sanders "Syria isn't our problem, we aren't the world's police".
As an American you should be questioning our political leaders who have aligned themselves with the evils of the House of Saud on the one hand and on the other hand have the nerve condemn the evils of Russia or Assad who are actually fighting a common enemy that is ISIS.
Do you not see the hypocrisy in this? Do you not see how a web of lies forces people to do logical somersaults (of the kind that Bernie Sanders does who keeps calling on the ouster of Assad, the evils of Putin, the nobility of the FSA who are doing something that in Saudi Arabia would get them branded as terrorists and get their heads chopped off) to justify positions that are completely illogical and opposite based solely on partisanship, graft, ideology and personal gain rather than what is moral, ethical, and legal. Bernie Sanders seems to believe the US is the world's police or else he wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops that Assad has to go. When are you going to tell Bernie Sanders to shut the f*ck up with his bullshit?

Quite the contrary, patches and everyone knows where Bernie Sanders stands. Your position on the murderous Saudi regime that America supports has been well documented. David Swanson recently wrote a great article on Counterpunch titled "Bernie Sanders Insists Saudi Arabia Should Kill More People" that provides a good summary of Bernie's pro-war, pro-oil, pro-business-as-usual, positions.*Cue Bernie to start screaming like a lunatic and shotgunning gifs as everyone cringes and shakes their head.*

Did you even look at the link saxi provided, before posting your Politifact "debunking?" Probably not, because you would have noticed that it's responding to a completely different story from two months ago. Now, you could of course attempt to come back from this embarrassment by pointing out that the Politifact piece nevertheless clarifies Sanders' stance on Saudi Arabia. However, since the Counterpunch piece is specifically (among other things) indicting Saudi Arabia for bombing Yemen using US bombs, you would still end up looking like an idiot.

patches70 wrote:hahah, here you are calling for Syria's neighbors to invade, destablize Syria and then have the guts to complain about Russia invading Ukraine. Bwahahah.
I got a better idea, Bernie, why don't you not worry about Assad, Syria because Assad and Syria are exactly zero threat to your country (the US). It's none of your business. And while your at it, why don't you refrain from egging other countries into a fight with each other?
You want to have the Syrian refugees (who are mostly fleeing from the likes of ISIS, FSA and other rebels) to come back and fight for their country against Syrians who are fighting for their country.
Mr Sanders, you have neither the wisdom nor ability to navigate this mess. When you try to stick your two cents in all you do is make it worse. You want war with all. Want Syria to stabilize? Then get the hell out of Assad and Russia's way and let them sort it out.
While you're at it, get the State Department and the CIA out of the Ukraine and speak out against the US for going against her explicit promise to Russia to not expand NATO towards her borders.
Now if your worried about some other country you think Syria and Assad are a danger to, then put your cards on the table and play them. Then you can explain how you don't give two shits about the US' interests, you are looking out for the interests of another country. Then maybe people will be able to understand your logic somersaults.
Man, I can't wait until the real Bernie Sanders gives his "the merits of Democratic Socialism" speech he's been promising for ages. When he finally does that's it for that loser, he's done and the Democrat party can get on to nominating the criminal Hitlary for President.

Yes, I read the article. Yes, I know about the date of the article. What you don't read is my response to Saxi's post.
I wrote that Saudi Arabia is MORE CONCERNED about their southern border with Yemen than ISIS in Iraq and Syria. It all has to do with Shiites and Sunnis not trusting each other.
The ISIS/ISIL or whatever name they go by is a ARAB/MUSLIM issue. I do not want American troops in Syria or Iraq. I want Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Gulf states and even Iran to fight and destroy these terrorist. We should give them support, but not American blood.
