I wish I was a Canadian...

SIGH...

Ah, to be known for mullets, hockey and Labatt's Blue...

Oh yeah, and the flag that looks like a pot leaf.

[In other news, I HAVE eaten cod, but firmly deny its existence.]

I don't live in an igloo, even though I'm in the Northern part....however the beer...true. Mullets?!?!? ewww.

And the flag...ok...I have to give you that one too. Too true. But we do say "eh" instead of "huh".

Funny thing about mullets... Before we learned they had an actual name, we called them Hockey Player Haircuts.

Probably my favorite part of Bowling for Columbine (besides the cartoon) is where they go to Canada and it's pretty much the same as the USA... Except there aren't any insane people. We have some real freaks down here.

I was going to say that we don't have freaks up here...then remembered a few high-profile murder cases. I stand corrected.

And what do you define as "freaks"?

Wait...don't answer that.

Well, Seattle is a pretty peaceful place, generally speaking... Especially the Capitol Hill area, which is the trendy, bohemian neighborhood. Everyone's really laidback, half the residents are gay, it's just a really good vibe going on.

And then a few months back, this guy end up going to a rave in Capitol Hill. Gets invited to the afterparty at some dude's house... Leaves for half an hour, comes back and just starts shooting. For no identifiable reason. Just unloads. Kills like 7 of these people who accepted him and treated him kindly because he's "conflicted."

I'm sure there are people like this all over the world, who just kill for no reason... We've just got most of them here in the States. [/sigh]

Also note: I do not live in an igloo...and I don't have a stupid measuring system
(1000m = 1km vs 1762(or something like that) feet = 1mile
10mm = 1cm vs I don't even care = 1 foot)
how do you feel knowing that your measuring system is based on the size of a french dudes foot?

Well, the origin of the metric system is French. It was adopted there after the French revolution. Besides, the English system is historically based on old Roman units of measurement.

Although the current U.S. president may not be a member of MENSA, it could have been worse. That is if John Kerry had won the last election. They both did some tests when entering into the military, Bush's score was higher. Also, Bush's SAT test score was higher. But that's life I guess. Things can always be worse.

Also, if you want to do some American bashing, you need to go and find yourself an American. I'm European. However, it was not a coincidence that made me go to the U.S. in order to get a higher education. Their top universities are simply light years ahead of other North American universities.

Was it in Bowling of Columbine there was an interview with this gun hugger guy who first said that people should be free to own nukes if they wanted to? That was funny. There were quite a lot of freaks in that film. But Michael Moore is a freak so I guess he knew where to find them... :D

America + Canada = North America.

My post wasn't directed at you, more at a general direction of "Canada is awesome cause I can break a leg and not have to pay for hospital bills, and I have no fear of being thrown into a war, nor am I under a constant threat of terror". But still, yes it may be better, but I'd hope it would be for the price that you'd be paying.

But the metric system is just soo much better, because its all powers of 10 (everything turns out nicely). The french also experimented with 20 hour days instead of 24, just to see what would happen. they would have had to change the duration of everything (1 second would not actually be 1 second, if that makes ANY sense WHATSOEVER). However, canadians adopted it, americans stayed imperial...The mars probe was lost because NASA didn't convert cm to inches...I find that EXTREMELY funny, the fac that they spent like 200 billion quadrillian (I doubt that they ACTUALLY spent that much) dollars building it, and a simple mistake leaves them somewhere in the middle of space.

now, give me an american! heh.

Now europe is a different story. I don't think I could live in europe...like so many countries, and it just seems so vacation-y to me. To me niagra falls isn't that big a deal, CN tower isn't that big a deal because I've seen them so many times. But if I went to france and saw normandy beach, dieppe, where the old atlantic wall was, the trenches, the old barracks, stuff like that, where real history is, I found find that sooo interesting, but I wouldn't want to like walk by there every day and be like 'meh'. Thats what has happened to niagra falls and the CN tower to me, I don't want that to happen for something as significant as that. Imagine walking by Auschwitz and being like "ugh, what an eyesore..."

Thats just me thou

Oh, so basically what you're saying is that the U.S. sucks and that Europe is a vacation spot, like a big Disneyworld. Right? Guess that leaves you with Canada as a possible place to live. :D Well, I can't blame you. Canada seems to be a pretty nice place. I don't mind it.

Didn't they just arrest some guys for planning to "cut the throat" of the prime minister. And blow up some stuff in toronto? Or was that England? I forget now.

Yes, but when I want to respond to just a tiny fragment of an ENORMOUSLY LONG post...... I find it much easier to copy and past rather than delete 98% of a post.

Thank you, finally back on topic.

I 'found' cod again last year after many years in which, shamefully, cod did not have a place in my life. See those little fish people stick on their cars? They love cod, too. I just made myself incredibly hungry. [/quote]
