Well, keep in mind that it IS a real eDrum set from Ion so you can transition from game drumming to real drumming. The cheaper "stock" RB2 drums are much improved over the last set as well. Velocity sensitive pads, Metal pedal and optional Cymbals. Plus the traditional four drums layout instead of GHWT's three which I always though was a strange choice.

Don't be to quick to assume...everyone thought that with the guitars as well but Activision balked.

qeee1 wrote:RB2 certainly has the sweeter tracklist though, sonic youth, dinosaur jr, smashing pumpkins, nirvana, talking heads, Bob Dylan, awesome...

Absolutely! Over 500 DLC songs by the end of the year. They just releases an incredible Who pack yesterday, hand picked by Daltry & Townsend.

And it will be out in less than 8 weeks!

Yeah, GH is looking like it's going to not do so well. It'll probably sell just because it's called Guitar Hero. Though with Eagle on the set list, it looks tempting...

Speaking of Guitar Hero, I did remember that I was a little surprised that they were making another GH: On Tour game so soon, even with the mixed reviews of the first one.

Well aren't you the little salesman?

Overall I've been dissappointed with the quality of the RB equipment, particularly the guitars.

Doolittle as dlc has me excited, but right now all I own is a Wii, so DLC may not happen. Plus at least GH doesn't have any of this timed exclusive crap. I'm gonna pick up one of the other consoles at some point, but I've no money right now.

 I am an unashamed Rock Band fanboy. It's a great party game...my son and I play just about every night.

Yes, they are/were different. No "click" which veteran GH players found annoying. The RB2 guitars are supposed to be much improved. We will see. They are also opening it up for 3rd party controller developers which will help.

Ahhh...I agree that RB1 for the Wii is trash. A port of a port and no DLC which is the biggest reason to get it in my opinion. If I had a Wii I would probably pass as well. Xbox for the win!

I'm partial to GH, so the RB guitar frustrates me to no end. But if they can make the guitars as impressive as that drum set, I'll probably convert...

I love the guitar difficulty you get with GH but I'm kinda getting bored of rows and rows of the "stairs" hammer-ons anyway. Though the whole reason we picked GH3 over RB was the price anyway and I'm not getting rich anytime soon.

In my opinion, GH is more a solo gamers game and RB is more a party/group game.

Well, if there is just one of you RB makes no sense. If there are 2-3-4 however, RB is a blast.

I have both Guitar Hero 3 and RB but only a wii. >_> Great for me. I'm not getting an XBOX360 just for one game though so meh. I'll probably end up buying both of the new ports for the wii when they come out. :/

It's obnoxious. Those stair hammer-ons are a bitch. I have to say, Cliffs of Dover is one of the more fun songs in the series. It's difficult, but in a really creative, less obnoxious way. Sounds awesome too.

on the topic, i am also quite disappointed by E3, few minor highlights, but nothing mindblowing and awesome

as to the GH/RB topic, I just got RB for wii and its pretty awesome, and just about anyone can play, but its still challenging, great party game as well

lol, that's gold. Yeah, there's too many FPS, but there have been too many for a long time now. It's almost like when EVERY game was a Fighting Game back in the 90s, now in the 2000s it's all FPS and I just can't play those. And, too bad for me, Nintendo doesn't do too many RPGs for the Wii. They got a couple, but then instead of doing a real Dragon Warrior they have that dumb "swords" thing instead. Sigh. I'm looking forward to Tecmo Bowl and Gauntlet on the DS though, but those are soon-to-come-out games. Nothing on the slate from Nintendo out of E3 really says "you gotta buy me!" I'll probalby get Animal Crossing at some point though. I switched it to G4 today just in time to see The Miz talking about how The Mizzard of OZ and the Reality Check are his finishing moves in the new Smackdown vs Raw game. Man, and another thing about Nintendo is their Madden and SD!vRaw games are way outside the box next to the other versions on the other systems and not in a good way. Warg. Yeah, I really didn't have point in mind I just felt like rambling about video games for a mintue.

And personlay I'm waiting for "Sadness" on the wii but that doesn't come out for over a year AND I'll probably be very excited about it only to be crushed with disapointment like I was with "Rule of Rose" a few years ago. :(

You're right about FPS, although I think platformers had their moment of prominence in the 90s too. Every movie had a shitty platformer cash in at one stage.

Nintendo did say that new Mario, Zelda and Pikmin were in the works. They just eh... don't have anything to show for them. Also Madworld looks cool.
