The last few days I've been unable to get up before getting at least 10 hours of sleep, so this will be quite interesting.

See, if I got that kind of sleep regularly, I could probably go the distance. As is, I could probably beat the hell out of you guys in a sleeping contest. My personal record is 18 hours, cut short by a roommate who was making eggs. My stomach got the best of me on that occasion. Plus, there was no incentive to continue, other than sheer laziness.

Not for lack of trying though, it's just that whenever I've tried to get up early my body has refused to do what my brain (and the alarm clock) has been telling it and gone right back to sleep until 1 in the afternoon or so, taking the brain with it.

I've had those days. Unfortunately, they tend to be on days when I need to get up. Physics exams. Work. Those kinds of things.

Well, those days are temporarily over for me now (until my summer job starts), the only day I actually managed to get up when I had planned to was when we were having a surprise birthday party for an acquaintance of mine. Otherwise I've overslept by at least 2 hours, usually 3 or 4.

Well, good luck with that, I guess it'll be breakfast time for me soon.

Good luck with that, kids. I'm going to respond to Juan in the 9/11 and then crash the hell out. I have Serious Business to attend to in about ten hours, so I'm going to be prepared. I know you'll miss me.

We definitely will, and we might be much changed when you're back again in 10 hours to see what we're up to.

Well, there's good news and bad news.

Bad news

-My fucking ungrateful friend from portland who's been "visiting" for the past few weeks ate the other half of my sandwich!!

-He also drank the rest of my Patron

-AND when going from the kitchen to the bathroom in the dark, i tripped over a can of paint and hit my hand on his guitar. I now have a bruise on my middle finger :(

-I'm still starving!!

Good News

-UPS delivered my Lollapalooza tickets a few hours ago! Unfortunately I was taking a dump and I had to run and answer the door in just my underwear, with a dirty anus.

**UPDATE**

If I don't eat soon, things could get ugly.

I almost dozed off and hit a parked car doing about 45mph just a few hours ago. And now, even more sleep deprived, I must get behind the wheel once again in order to find a late dinner. I could always walk to the KFC which is no more than 30 yards from my front door, but I would consider driving on 35 sleepless hours less of a health risk.

wish me luck!!

"City of Angels" is LA? You live and learn.

And don't drive, walk! Or put various stuff and cheese on a piece of bread and put it in the oven, can't go wrong with that.

L... Los Angeles? Is that not a literal translation?

Anyhow, one of my favorite drunk meals at home is Kraft mac & cheese with a can of tuna mixed in. Quick, easy, delicious, and no driving required. Seriously, driving is a bad idea...

"Los" means "city"? Also: Keep in mind that I'm the one challenging Kid_A despite his head-start and have been up for 21 hours now.

lol, lucky for you you're out of patron kid_a, or else you might pass out and lose the challenge... and then medefe wouldn't realize what's going on, think you're still awake, and end up dying of some kind of sleep deprivation or something

And we wouldn't want that, and even after kid goes to sleep I won't have won for a long time.

But what's "out of patron" supposed to mean?

Re: *37 Hours and Counting: How long can Kid_A.......

**UPDATE**

I had quite the adventure, for someone who was just searching for a place to have dinner on Friday night.

So as I got in my car, I noticed a bag in the back seat that read "Subway". Ya know what was in that bag? Half of an italian sub that belonged to my Portland buddy. He had gotten it earlier today and was saving it for later. Did I mention that he was the same friend who STOLE MY TUNA MELT!!!!
Apparently I have good sandwich karma! I sat there for a few minutes enjoying my dinner. But the wonderfulness did not end there! I also discovered a giant cookie in the passenger side door pocket!! I did not know how long it had been in there but It sure tasted like heaven :)

Instead of heading back upstairs with my full belly, I decided that I needed booze. Guinness and Patron, to be more specific. The liquor store also had quite an elaborate porn section.
As I was leaving the liquor store to head home, I received a call from Portland friend. He wanted to go to the local pub. After being up for 37 hours, I declined the invitation, but agreed to give him a ride. He was in downtown santa monica which was a 5 minute drive so it wasn't a problem.

On my way to pick up Portland friend, I learned a valuable life lesson.
When you've been awake for over 36 hours straight, you NEVER, EVER listen to Coldplay while driving, because you will cry, and you will think that you can sing just like Chris Martin!!

So I arrive at the promenade in Santa Monica just in time to see my buddy having a heated debate in the middle of a busy street with a crazy band of 'Jews for Jesus!'
I had to drag him away and calm him down.
As we left the promenade we passed some kind of crime scene, where I think a shooting just took place! There were a dozen police vehicles and several ambulances and hundreds of spectators. And a few suspects in handcuffs. I have no Idea what happened but I'm glad I was not around for it!

Then I stopped at the gas station and paid $4,000 to fill my tank and went home.

-the end

ah, I see, well as recently as 5 hours ago I was still drinking vodka with orange juice, but I'm not planning to drive anything, and I only remembered the friend eating the other half of the ominous sandwich. Tequila is also good though, and especially interesting if you have 2 bottles and only one lemon.

ugh, tequila is disgusting...

screwdrivers are quite good though. but i prefer some cranberry and juice with vodka more... it feels cleaner on the mouth...

but really, i get really tired after drinking for a while... and my head starts pounding if i don't keep drinking or pass out...
