Yep it is and I certainly dont buy it but it provides a nice face saver which is fine by me. In practical terms it means that those who embrace ID dont insist that literal creationism is taught as being as valid as evolution and dont educationaly stunt their kids by enrolling them in evangelical homeschool programmes.

That very well could be. Maybe if Adam and Eve didn't rebel, evolution wouldn't even be an issue. Considering that God made Adam in the image of himself, this leads me to believe that Adam was created perfect but imperfection fell upon him when he disobeyed God's word and therefore needed evolution to correct any imperfections in humanity. The same reasoning could also apply to your ticks and viruses in the sense that without the perfect man, there lies an imperfect world.
Things are now unfolding that only prophecy can explain!
