The other countries are really going to have to up their game.
Spain are probably the closest.
The Spanish league is deff the closet, with 6 teams capable of beating our top 4 on their day. In order: Barcelona, Real madrid, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Villareal. All of those are top 4 quality. In fact the league is great until you get to the bottom 5 teams, at whic point we are talking mid championship level. If La Liga BBVA gets a deal like the Premiership and the soon to be new italian top division's new deal, then i predict they will dominate.pmchugh wrote:JoshyBoy wrote:The English teams have been dominating the Champions League for a while.

They certainly are but with the ridiculous amount of money even the average prem teams get as well as it being the "in" place to be I don't see it changing any time soon.

(try taking a calbe car down the mountain with lots of drunk fans in really bad fucking wind. funniest thing eva)JoshyBoy wrote:The unfortunate thing is that the English Premiership is where all the world's best players want to be. Having said that, stadium sizes leave something to be desired.
Seen Barcelona's home ground the Nou Camp? It makes Anfield look like my back yard.

Thank-you my friend for those facts.
Arsenal's NEW stadium is a measly just over 60,000 capacity. That's tiny.

Fergerson fucked it up by leaving tevez on the bench and not signing him up this season. that guy will come back and haunt him if he goes to Liverpool, Chelsea or city this year.

They played like it was any old game. It was the last game of the season with a massive prize at stake. Injuries and yellow cards didn't matter. They gave the ball away far too easily, didn't keep hold of the ball, and generally played like shit.
Well done Barcelona. Worthy winners.
(It makes Chelsea's last 2 games against them look very good in retrospect)

Man-of-the-match Xavi.
worked his bollocks off. never gave the ball away and closed down everything.
the first 10 mins i thought i was in for a painful night. Manure battered them. then E'to popped up and scores, game over. Giggs, Rooney, Anderson and Carrick were all shite. they just didn't see enough of the ball.
what i thought was funny is when Scholes came on and was booked more or less straight away. a typical Scholes tackle.
