Nah, no need for that.

I can smell your fear of The DeBerry!

Didn't the Cowboys beat Air Force in 2005 when he was still head coach?

Why do you think he quit? <evil laugh>

Win or lose against Air Force, the game that has been a big one since 1899 is the one against CSU. One of the oldest rivalries in the nation.

I didn't see all of it but it sounds like South Florida may have struggled a bit early from what the announcers say. Also Cincy's starting QB might have rebroken his left arm.

#8 Cincy QB's wrist is sprained not broken and they eventually took care of business.
The stats for that game are pretty close but the final score is 34-17.

#5 Boise State trailed for the first time this season before squeezing past Tulsa 28-21.
A Bradfordless Oklahoma beat Tulsa 45-0 a few weeks ago.

Well that's good he didn't rebreak it. that could have been detrimental to Cincy's season.

Arkansas 20 at #1Florida 23 Final
Gators dodge a bullet as the Razorbacks blow the biggest upset of the year

Add 2 missed FGs and that's a lot of points off of the scoreboard.

Re: COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Doesn't seem like this was a very good week for the top 5 (top 7) really as Alabama was the only team in it to win their game by more than a touchdown. 3 teams in top 5 (4 in top 7) beat their opponents by a touchdown or less (Boise St., Florida, Texas, US) and 2 of those won by a field goal (Texas and Florida), The remaining team in the top 5, VT, lossed (badly I believe) to #19 Georgia Tech and #6 OSU lossed to Purdue, despite late game comeback attempt. Not to forget that Texas beat Oklahoma by a field goal after Oklahoma lost Bradford for the game (if not longer) and turned it over 7+ times (I missed the very end of the game) (though not to take away from a good defensive effort from both teams). So after this week I imagine the standings will look something like this:

1. Alabama
2. Florida (maybe Texas?)
3. Texas
4. Boise St.
5/6. CIncy/USC (I'd put CIncy ahead but not sure the pollsters would.)

It's also quite possible that Florida either keeps their #1 spot or that they could fall as far as three (though I kind of doubt it as Texas didn't really blow out Oklahoma).

yeah but you gotta think though, Texas Oklahoma is a big rivalry game, and almost half the time this game is decided by a single digit difference.

I don't see any shuffling of the top 3 spots, they all got it done one way or the other. I wish Florida had lost, but Arkansas is a team that should not be overlooked, and Oklahoma played their hearts out to take Shipley out of the game and pressure McCoy non stop in that 1st half. We have been a second half team all year, and because of that I was scared to death of today's game. The fact that we went in at half time down by 3 was a victory, they boys came out and did what they needed to do to get the win. Granted they made it a lil more filled with drama then they needed to by not wrapping up on Broyles for that TD and McCoy throwing that silly int down in the red zone on a 3rd and 2, but they went into a neutral site against a good Oklahoma team and their defense won it for them.

Besides it doesn't matter about shuffling those 3 around anyways. Alabama & Florida will meet in the title game and it will cancel on of them out and it will be SEC Winner vs Texas, barring we don't make any silly mistakes like last yr with Tx Tech, and barring USC doesn't miraculously get crazy support to overtake us at the number 3 spot. Cause Boise State and Cincy aren't going to last.

Yes, Arkansas left a lot of points on the field, but Florida got two huge gifts on phantom calls for them to tie the game. And then, when there should have been a clear offensive passing interference on Florida, it wasn't called. Those refs just couldn't let the #1 team lose their homecoming game.

And then in tonight's Big 12 game, Missouri gets screwed on a phantom holding call after an 88 yard kickoff return. And then they also didn't overturn a kickoff fumble when it showed his knee down before the ball game out. At least Kansas lost.

It doesn't mean a whole lot but... I could see a rankings shuffle

1. Alabama 7-0
2. Texas 6-0
3. Florida 6-0...very fortunate to win today
4. Cincinnati 6-0...convincing away win versus an unbeaten ranked team
5. Iowa 7-0... passed the audition and remains unbeaten
6. Boise State 6-0...but their schedule will hurt 'em in the BCS Rankings
7. TCU 6-0
8. Georgia Tech one loss
8. Oregon one loss
8. LSU one loss
8. Miami (FL) one loss
8. Oklahoma State one loss
8. Auburn one loss
8. USC one loss
8. Penn State one loss
9, South Florida one loss
9. BYU one loss
9. Utah one loss
10. Virginia Tech two losses
10. Mississippi two losses
10. Nebraska two losses
10. Ohio State two losses
10. Missouri two losses
10. Michigan two losses
10. Notre Dame two losses

King Sam is right, with lots of tough SEC, Big 12 and other games remaining
it will get sorted out. Although if Cincy wins out, I'm not sure how they fit in.

Night Strike wrote: Florida got two huge gifts on phantom calls

Absolutely... the pass interference that gave Florida a 1st down was BS. The Arkansas defender was in decent position, turned back to look for the ball... and the pass was short and inside anyways, giving the receiver no chance at making the reception and should have been a no call. The interference wasn't there, so I don't know what the ref was looking at.

The other pass in the end zone where the defender was in great position to make a play on the ball and the Florida receiver is all over his back to prevent an interception was flagrant. If a ref is going to call the other ticky-tack foul... then this should have been an obvious penalty and cost the Gators 15 yards.

Even with those crappy calls... Arkansas had plenty of opportunities to win this one
and just couldn't get it done.

You are probably right. though in my mind ALabama has been #1 for a few weeks now. I don't expect them to rop texas it would pbe hard for them to make that case I just don't expect them to be moved up.

Same thing happened in last year's Georgia-Florida gaeme to bust itwide open. It was a close game but on Georgia's first drive when they were marching it down the field, Stafford through a pass that was intercepted and taken for a td but what happened was clear defensive pass interference and should have been negated but they didn/t than on Florida's next possession, Tebow threw a touchdown pass to a receiver who had pushed off the defensive back, clear offensive pass interference.

Unfortunately for Iowa and Cincy if Alabama or Florida run the table and Texas runs the table, than they will left out of the tile picture. Iowa may end up playing in the rose bowl against the Pac 10 winner and don't know who Cincy would end up laying.

You are far too kind. Nebraska doesn't deserve to be in anyone's Top 25 after yesterday's..."performance". That looked like a bad high school team with the occasional superstar play made by a defensive lineman (the only four players to show up).

I really expected more from Nebraska, Suh is easily one of the best defensive players in the NCAA and their only previous loss was to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. A game they completely dominated and let get away from them in the final minute of play. Of course that loss was the result of a single big pass play that doubled VaTech's total offense for the second half and put them in the red zone, where a 4th and long in the final seconds provided a touchdown and the win. I certainly didn't expect the Red Raider's air show to cruise right over them on auto pilot.

Not sure which top 5 I agree with more/less. I mean there's the fact that the BCS ranking still has Florida #1 and then there's the AP that's moved USC up to #4 from was it 6 or 7? after a win by a touch down against ND?

I dont think Florida should drop so much in your polls. Arkansas is a good team even though there 4-3. They only lost to Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Although Alabama handled them easier they had them off a week were they were beat by Georgia and they had some momentum going into the florida game
