There's two possiblities.

1. He was indeed wrong with his grammer. [-X

or

2. He was complimenting me.

Well, I know DM well enough to know he wasn't complimenting me so that leaves only option 1. 8-)

The thing I don't get is why these guys are sucking up to DM so much even to the point where their willing to argue with actual fact. :?

Has DM been back here to argue the misspelling. No because he even knows he screwed up. ;)

These guys need to give their head a shake. =D>

While we're on the topic of pointing out (frankly petty) typos, I should have you know that you spelled grammar wrong. And I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that "He was wrong with his grammer (sic)" is grammatically incorrect. At the very least, it makes you sound dull.

Anyway, I just wanted to point out your hypocrisy. Have fun finding out there's no god when you die.

Your statement ALMOST makes sense. It would if it had any bearing on the topic at all. Nice try though.

There are a number of flaws with it...though certainly it doesnt mean you dont still have to like it as a bit of evidence for yourself, it no longer stands up as proper reasoning for believing in God...if it ever did.

well in order for the idea to have any kind of value at all, it has to suggest that there is a God and a particular one to believe in. Otherwise as an assertion its rather valueless. It really is more or less a model at the time which allowed individuals something that could be fairly persuasive, (lacking other information) which was more intellectually appealing than some other ways of thinking about it.

If its just something to think about...nothing more or nothing less, than perhaps you would accept my new version as valid.

Ive recently set up a religion called Tonkaism. We promise that if you believe that Tonka Trucks are the key to your salvation you will go to the great Truck emporium in the sky. Ever lasting bliss is assured. However if you dont believe, you will go to the junkyard, where you will be eternally tormented. Our moral code is sound, and very just, you would live an ethical life by it, even if the supernatural promises were empty...which they are.

Does this work as well for you as subsituting Christianity? Because it is more or less the exact same thing.

Hey, now. I'm not the one who brought this whole grammar thing up. It's not my fault you make yourself look the fool by making fun of someone for something that you yourself clearly have trouble with.

Now if you want me to chime into the topic at hand, I'll say that I am an agnostic, leaning on atheist. I believe that should I suspect wrong and against all odds there actually IS a god, then the fact that I lived my life trying to be the kindest and most noble person I could be should be enough that my soul not be damned for eternity. If it's not, f*ck it. This god is obviously not worth spending the rest of my life around.

Now that said, I doubt that a god exists. There's "logic" to support both sides, but really what side you're on depends less on the logic that you're arguing and more about your upbringing and the people around you. So, Gregrios: bugger off, because you're obviously trying to harass people. And if this "doesn't make sense" to you, then I pray your God can help you.

you are correct...i do not. By not agreeing with pascals wager, you arent exactly out to disprove christianity, your merely pointing out that if you make a model and plug in what you want to plug in, your going to get an answer you like, regardless of whether or not your answer actually is true.

And besides, the age of a religion cannot be a serious debating point, else Christianity would have been rubbish in AD 35.

It wasn't meant to be serious. It was just a half humored way to descredit a boneheaded theory.

Now go back to the curling iron. ;)

I just dont think its a good way to decide to believe in God. Nothing more or nothing less.

Also first meeting of tonkaism will be put on a calendar or something.

Oh believe me the curls at least are real. As a kid, I hated them. Did you ever hear the nonsense that grown-ups tell you to make you eat your crusts (not sure if this is just a Cockney thing) - "you'll never have curly hair unless you eat the crusts"?

Well, I love crusts, but spent most of my childhood avoiding them 'cos it might make my hair go straight!
