Unfortunately we'll be rooting for opposite teams come Sunday. See I nee the Giants to win so that the Saints can't pull into a convincing lead in the South and you need the Saints to win so that you aren't hopelessly far back from the Giants in the East.

I just got that bloody "Windows Police" virus back on my desktop. It took me ages to get rid of it last time. Bastards.

Well, it's a clever little bastard - it pretends to be part of Windows (all the right icons and everything), and tells you all about viruses, trojans, and great white whales attacking your system (all right I made the last one up), and all you have to do to "fix" the non-existent problems is send them money. All along of course, it's Windows Police itself that's the intruder. But it's hard to turn it off or delete it, and it keeps interrupting anything you try to do. I've had it before and got rid of it, wish I could remember how. This time it's added a nasty extra - it tells me my virus-remover is infected and keeps shutting that down.

What with that, dogbites, the curlette's visit to the corn maze being snowed off, and an attack of allergic sneeziness, it hasn't been the best 24 hours ever.

Still, I gotta new phone (for $10 off ebay, nothing fancy but all I ever use it for is the phone the kids and say "Where the hel are you NOW? You're dinner will get cold...") and it turned out we'd very wisely insured the curlson's so we got a replacement for $40. Now he has to pay us back out of pocket money and chores.
