Plenty of action and seeing the group encounter someone that makes them seem like the bad guys was a nice turnaround (not often you end up rooting for the stranger in this series). Loved the night-time top down camera angle as they drove through the herd...

As for the gay kiss, I'm willing to be if we could find newspaper letters sections from the days after the Uhuru/Kirk Star Trek first inter-racial kiss we could find many of the same sorts of comments, and it's only surprising in that this is far from the first and yet still the comments come...

probably not, since race and gender are 2 completely different things and are in no way interchangable

I agree, this was actually a good episode. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The gay kiss made me happy too, since my co-workers that love this show are super conservative and not at all cool about that kind of stuff, so as soon as it happened I got all giddy about being able to bring it up to them the next day. Haha.

I don't think they're that kind of super conservative. As far as I know none of them own guns, although it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Oh well, I'd deserve it for being a hippy liberal-leaning commie Obama loving sodomite, or something like that.

as far as the gay kiss goes, i didn't really see too much of an issue here. seems there are some people that want it to be an issue. so they keep posting how it is one. when it's not.

i still don't trust him. gay or not gay. i'm with rick. can't wait to see what comes of this. doubt they will let us know much in the start though. kind of like the governor. probably going to be all hunky dory for a few episodes. then rick will need to get back to the blender with the pistol in it to save the rest of the crew from the gay guys.

This guy has a problem:

This guy is pretending he has a problem:

But truly I think that was probably the last of the "lovey dovey" gay scenes we will see.

As far as the new episode goes, Rick pretty much said that the group is staying even if things fail...they would take over and succeed. I don't know where Rick's cached pistol went. Did the girl find it? Daryl is acting goofy, and why is everyone else cleaned up except Glen and Daryl?

i'd be willing to bet a couple of cheeseburgers that the guy in the first video watched tonight's episode.

that was a really good way to end it. with rick saying what he did.

overall probably the best episode i've seen in quite a while. and it looks like it will just get better next week. they do a good job of making me wrong when it comes to trying to guess what happens next. which i like. i can't imagine who got the pistol. they probably were watching him tho' when he put it in there. that's what i'd bet. i trust the women there in Alexandria, but not the men. not sure why they make them out to be so weak tho'. glenn decked the f*ck out of that dipshit which made for a nice little scene.

i know there has to be more to this town. just not sure what it is. possibly that little girl is a scout for a different group that wants to take it over.....

i don't have any idea what's fixing to happen.

Interesting take. There is a reason why that girl seems disinterested in Carl and why Carl picked up on the girl's lack of acceptance of him. That would be an interesting spin. We'll see.

This was kind-of a necessarily boring episode. It was pretty ho-hum but I forgive them for needing a segue.

as far as excitement, there wasnt a bunch. but it sure opened up several new items of interest. its definitly going much better than the first half of the season. i see the group kind of splitting into two factions. and i still dont know what to think about alexandria.

that stamp rick got on his hand seemed like it had some signifigance. possiblly tied in with the W on the zombies forehead? possibly a rival group?

i dont have a clue whats fixing to happen. only three episodes left tho' i have a feeling we'll jave to wait til next october to get all the awnsers.

Ok, so some of you are seem a bit distrustful of the people of Alexandria, but maybe didn't notice the other strange goings on?

The girl, the one that climbed the wall and Carl followed only to lose later, anyone wondering what she's up to? I think she is a spy.

The leader lady of Alexandria, (I forget her name), she said something to Rick when they first met in his interview. She said she'd done "things". She exiled three men she said, and assumes it was a death sentence. I'd bet a dollar to a doughnut that at least one of those fellows is still alive and he's pretty pissed. Pissed about being exiled and pissed that Alexandria has those safe walls. Seems just the right kind of person that Rick warned the lady about that are roaming about in the world of the walking dead.

Also, the chick who cut Rick's hair, can you all see that her and her husband don't get along very well? Seems they are trying to keep up appearances but there is a seething loathing underneath for some reason. Rick's gonna kill that mf'er one day.

Rick got freaked out by the stamp because of what Gareth did. If we remember, Gareth painted a big red "A" on the church before he and his cannibal buddies tried to wipe out the group at the church. The stamp reminded Rick of that incident-

#1 - I rewatched the last 30 seconds of the ending two more times, which - despite the general boring qualities of the episode - is probably the most poignant and, possibly, foreshadowing moment of the whole series. The (a) diabolical facial expression Rick gives the camera, (b) close-up of the revolver in his back belt, (c) his previous softening attitude toward the town, (d) the Bee Gees soundtrack, (e) Rick's new uniform, and (f) his casual placing of his hand on the wall, is all very Governor-esque. I think this is foreshadowing the devolution of Rick into a new Governor, in the way the Governor started well-intentioned before breaking with reality. Also, the last few seconds of the Bee Gees soundtrack starts echoing as though we're hearing what's going on inside Rick's head (i.e. he's hearing voices) ... I had to relisten to the song on YouTube to see if it did that in the original but it doesn't.

Carol is more cutthroat than ever before and Rick is possibly on the verge of a mental break. Meanwhile, Darrel's character is slowly acclimating and may be about to organize the Alexandria Pride Parade. I predict Rick, with Carol as his deputy, will take control of Alexandria as dictator before they both die a tragic death either putting down an uprising or refusing to abandon Alexandria in the face of an attack by a stronger foe, whereupon Darrel will lead the survivors the last few miles into D.C. where they'll either find some sort of salvation or make their last stand.

From reading ahead in the TWD wiki it appears this isn't what happens in the book but I'm betting there's going to be another plot break.

#2 - I only just noticed it, but in rewatching the last 30 seconds, I noticed when Rick is sauntering away he passes "MORGAN STREET" ... Rick's very first friend who also went insane! [edit - after googling that, apparently I'm the last person on Earth to have noticed "MORGAN STREET"]

Saxi pretty much said this, but I came here to say it so I'm gonna say it anyway.

To me it seems like the group, or at least parts of the group, are becoming the bad guys. They're the bad people out there that Alexandria should be looking out for. Rick saying they'll just take the town themselves if the residents prove too weak, Carol breaking in and stealing weapons so they're armed, Carol saying what she said to that kid that followed her. Holy crap, that was some dark stuff to say to a little kid.

Maybe they were out there too long.

#1 the leader of Alexandria is trying to split Rick's group in 2. That's why she recorded the interviews with all of them, to try to find where the wedge can be driven.

#2 Rick is turning into Shane

#3 The leader of Alexandria purposefully nudged Sasha to snap, and snap she did, just as white leader knew she the black girl would. Now she has her reason for Sasha not to let Sasha 'man' the tower.

#4 Leader does not want tower manned, perhaps becaue ...#5

#5 Remember the bit on the radio Tyrese heard as he was dying? About the government troops being cannibalistic and murderous, not there to help anyone except for themselves. I think leader lady knows the military comes to Alexandria every now and then, and they give the military 'tribute' in the form of the undesirable newbies as well as supplies, and the military doesn't knock down their walls. Tha'ts how power works, andreallu, Alexandria doesn't have any power.

#6 that broken ass house outside the walls, under 100% surveillance. nexbies always think it's safe there, but it never is

OHHHHHHH SHIT! I think PS nailed it! And, yes, the Shane connection is true with the affair and what not. I didn't even pick up on that.

There's quite a large spoiler for the next episode doing the rounds online and most of the sources that are normally fairly reliable are saying it's most likely true. I won't make it so you can read it if you don't want to but if you do open that spoiler box below.

i doubted this. just goes to show what i know. what a waste of a good nemesis (aiden)

well, again, i have to say. this season is the bomb as of late. this episode reminded me of why i started watching this show in the first place. i can't wait to see what happens on the season finale, just not too excited because i know they're going to leave something up in the air that we'll have to wait another 7 months to figure out.

however right he may be, that preacher needs his head cut off for this blasphemy. what a little snake tattle tale. also, that buddy of aidens needs his arms cut off. what a little bitch.

i'm curious to see how the senator handles this information from the snake preacher guy. cuz, like i mentioned, it's kind of true. but a zombie state is no place for amateurs. they should be happy to fall in line with some guys that's been through the wringer and back.

still waiting to see what happened to the little girl, the "w" on the zombies head, the pistol, and to see if daryl comes out of the closet yet.
