poohcrumbs, you have every right to post your taste about avatars. I dont really have any problem with an avatar assuming its not bigotry, outright racist or perhaps against the actual law myself.

It may not be the most entertaining idea for a thread, but the flaming and trolling that follows I suppose that was inevitable, seems to supply the entertainment.

Well done. All you had to do was post your opinion, and you were able to sucker in many, many posters into near flames to say the least. Its almost amazing to see so many play into your hand, and you cant be possibly accused of any real trolling. All you did was post your personal opinion of some avatars. Actually in this case, it was a highly successful troll. He absolutely just posts his opinion, or at least something that could be his actual opinion and instantly gets the exact and immediate response he theoretically could have been going for, without in any way doing anything but posting his opinion about other avatars. The goal was clear, the post within guidelines for sure, and the result achieved the probable objective, without him ever having to even come close to breaking a rule, where some come pretty damn close to it, and by some definitions could easily be warned for doing just that. It never ceases to amaze me how easy some are to elicit a response from. Its almost so easy as to not even be fun.

Youve absolutely won this thread Pooh...just hold the line and dont give in once, its all yours. You posted your opinion, and like you say youve been very nearly flamed if not completely flamed..which I have no doubt you expected, but that does not excuse the behavior, or in any way make you at fault...assuming you dont lose control and just stay in your lane so to speak. I for one will enjoy watching the trolls and flamers peck away at you...after all you did was post your opinions on avatars...an opinion as I even said, that I happen to disagree with.

Its you that is trolling. All he did was post that he didnt like some avatars and maybe suggested they are too much. The fact that the expected result would be a bunch of semi-flames and trolling in no way makes him at fault. If other posters cant control themselves it is their fault, not his. You on the other hand are trolling, by simply calling him a troll, with the only evidence on your part, being that you suspect he was trolling. I agree that I think he probably did expect, want and enjoyed the exact responses he got...but again, thats only because he knew others would break the forum guidelines, simply because his opinion isnt the most popular of ones...but that does not mean he does not have the right to post that opinion...even if we all happen to know it isnt necessarily his opinion...the fact is, it could be...and in the end, thats good enough. If we are all only able to post our actual opinions, or beliefs, and be honest....this forum would be dead in about ten minutes....well, maybe 11.

I agree that posting in C&A was just silly, and maybe worthy of more than a courteous thread move... but as a thread in here it is perfectly acceptable, and shame on you instead for flaming him for simply posting his opinion...and perhaps....lol at AAFitz here....for making a mistake at which forum to post in...lol...yes...for that last part, remove my spin medical license...but the rest of it holds true. Especially since most of the people in here continually complain about too much moderation...and now someone simply disagrees with some avatars, and you are all yelling ban him. Absolutely not. I believe every word I typed, and it is all sound and true logic. I do suspect it is not a popular position, and no doubt will elicit varied responses from some who simply cant follow the forum guidelines. Part of me may even want that, but its all irrelevant. I am free to post my opinion, and thats what ive done. You are free to disagree, and by all means do...but what you are not allowed to do is make personal attacks for anyone posting their opinion, no matter what you agree with, or do not, or bait or troll yourself, simply because you feel someone else is....even if you happen to be right.

My objective is not to troll or bait. My objective is to post an opinion that I happen to know will not be agreeable or popular. Anything beyond that is completely out of my control. I may be flamed, I may be bated, I may be harrassed to no end, but alas, all Ive done is post my opinion, that in this case I feel pooh made a very good post....for bumpage forum...and simply has every right to post his opinion of avatars, or...a fake opinion even. You flaming him personally however is completely against the forum guidelines, and you simply are taking your chances on doing so. Either way, its nothing to me, except how I happen to view the situation...which again, is fully my right to post about...whatever motives you suspect I may or may not have.
