I can read just fine, which is why Im still laughing. Again, even suggesting that this one video could even possibly affect national educational results is utterly ridiculous. Its one video of one teacher and one kid. Using it as anything but an example of that one teacher is devoid of any sensibility whatsoever, which as mentioned before, what you pretty much do in every thread...so thank you, for confirming my point, while foolishly thinking you were debunking it.

Scotty response if this had happened on the other side: The kid shouldn't have provoked the teacher. It's disrespectfull. Besides you hear how he talks? He's probably on drugs and is just arguing because he's a bully. He should respect the teacher's authority in the classroom.

This. If you talk back to the teacher, you should expect that she'll make good on her threats, call the cops, who'll beat the tar out of him for badmouthing Obama, taze him a few times, and probably kill him. Totally justified because he was disrespectful.

Look...this teacher doesn't belong in the position. That she allowed herself and her classroom to get this out of control is ridiculous and evidence of her personal lack of discipline.

However, this also has nothing at all to do with the vast majority of teachers who are dedicated to their profession and are very good at it. To use this as even an example for "this is what is wrong with public schools" is about as nonsensical as using Phatscotty as an example for "people who believe in freedom".

I think this stuff is funny. I went to school for a long time and I never experienced anything like this (i.e. politically-motivated comments) but even the best teachers I had broke down in the classroom. It just happens.

I really and honestly do not understand why you believe that PARTISAN politics is really IN these classrooms. I'm in the schools, and I don't see it.

Politics itself absolutely should NOT "stay out of the classroom", however. After all, would you really want me to not be able to teach the Constitution of the United States as I am currently able to do?

I have been told directly by two moderators that Phatscotty does not troll. For what it's worth, I was told the same thing by the same two about pimpdave back in the day. EDIT: I've also been told by King Achilles that complaining about the moderation in such a manner DOES constitute trolling. Which explains why I keep disappearing for three-month sleep-with-the-fishes time.
