And what do you think Americans would do if they had in their hands a drug that would enhance their performance but wouldn't appear on the tests?

They'd probably take it. Just ask any of America's baseball players or cyclists.

Eh people take all kinds of legal supplements; hell our top club rower has a little pottle full of all kinds of stuff, and cycles creatine in his diet regularly.

So in reality its kind of a grey area.

All the really effective stuff is banned already (and it includes families of drugs so you cant get around a ban just by using some unknown new amphetemine instead of speed for example).

The reality is she's done one of three things:

- Used hormones in her off season, and would now be out of her system
- Used EPO in conjuntion with a masking agent (what the cyclists do and would be what a 400 IM swimmer would be using)
- Is genuinely clean

Oh they're already bad losers. Even if she is doped up to the eyeballs, its not the coach of the US swims teams place to rant publically about the "impossible" and make wild allegations.

The sports anti-doping agency already has a hard enough job to do without stupid media stories/politics getting in the way.

Welcome to the Olympics. Of course people go on rants when they lose. A TKD participant kicked the ref last time because he was not happy with the decision (and he was not from the U.S)

So you are buying this? You think people at ages 15-16 can actually improve on their best time? It is called their best time for a reason they will never do better. I think anyone who posts a better time than they ever have should be screened. It's inhuman, they must be messing with genetics.

How long does it take to run these drug tests?

I thought 12 hours was enough. Maybe 3 days if the lab is 6000+ miles away.

So basically you are saying that no one, EVER, can beat their best time?

At what age do they stop improving?
Which best time do you take into account?? The one set at the age age of 10 or the one set at 20?
Finally, are you on drugs??? Enquiring minds want to know>

I will assume that you didn't really mean that 15 year olds cannot improve , if that was the case then every sports person would give up in their teens :D
As to the question of these swimmers being doped I really dont know , nor do you , but that is irrelevent to the point I was making which apparently sailed way over your head.
An American coach whined about the cheating Chinese yet said nothing about the US girl who showed similar improvement , the hypocrisy is staggering and he now looks like a complete pratt.

the IOC has already cleared her and supportive of her.

isn't it in america that the "suspect" is innocent until proven guilty?

right now there is no evidence that she is taking drugs other than the rant of a racist american swimming coach who also happens to be a sore loser. coach john leaonard the loser, get a life because you are making americans look bad in front of the world. stop taking george dubya's job.

besides, michael phelp's coach also supports ye, and believes she is not taking drugs.

and talking about michael phelps, i think americans can learn to accept defeat with dignity. the chinese didn't accuse mike phelps with drugs in 2008. i'd say, taking 8 gold medals is suspicious. not to also mention he won one race by 1/100 of a second. it's also possible that the americans bribed the judges to give that medal to mikey. i wouldn't rule that out.

Accusing another country of cheating is not a good way to rule out cheating in a nation's athletes.

you're right, it isn't.

fair's fair isn't it mate?

notice how it's only america that is complaining about ye's gold medal?

america is simply a sore loser because they are not complaining about the chinese womens gym team. if the chinese womens gym team gold however, im sure there would be much accusations from the americans.

its far more reasonable to accuse michael phelps of using steroids than ye considering how many records he broke.

just like the american coach said, "if it's impossible, then its steriods"
