i wouldnt necessarily call it a famine as thats not at all the right term and implies the wrong thing. It also seems like an incredibly silly approach to blame the victim in the midst of a genocide because his gov is applying the resources the right way, which given what seems to be his relative lack of information about the topic, potentially not true.

Furthermore, to claim that simply because his country is involved with aid, that they should be granted "respect" is such an absurd notion that it becomes difficult to discuss the issue further. Its rather infantile.

Id simply suggest trying to find out more about it, as i think a lot of the issue here is a lack of understanding about some of the things going on in sudan.

Yeah, I agree with that. Though I would say it's not actually those nice old hippie people who collect but the government who give out foreign aid like it's nothing. They're giving tax-money to dictators if he promises to do something about the problems the citizens are having. I mean, charity organisations just suffer from the corrupt people behind it who use the money to get expensive cars, but having people who are so stupid to give money to a dictator and trust him running the country... well it just makes me lose all faith.
