And ya, think of your IP as your phone number. You don't want certain people to know your phone number, so you don't go around flaunting it (/b/ users and other hacker sociopaths). But, you don't mind others knowing it, as it's for the best (IE websites). As with phone numbers, you can trace IP's. Luckily, most people don't have "caller ID"
