Right now re-reading some old issues of one of my favourite comics, Knights of the Dinner Table. (as collected in Bundle of Trouble). If you are ,or have ever been a roleplayer, or have known any well, you will find this as funny as I do.

I actually just picked up a copy of an all inclusive Sherlock Holmes book. It has all the short stories, as well as the full length novels written about the sleuth.
I realized that I had never actually read any of Sir Arthur's books, only seen movies or spin offs.
Should be an interesting read.
The book also has copies of the original art work that was published with the stories .
So far the writing is passing the test of time.

:D :D 8-)

If you like it, you should try some of Conan Doyle's other stuff. Avoid Professor Challenger, especially the later stuff where he gets all tied up with spiritualism. Especially try The White Company and Sir Nigel.
The former is one of the few books I was assigned to read at school which I actually liked

Yes, I re-read that a coupla months ago.

What was the name of the sequel he wrote? I had a copy at one point, but didn't have a copy of Kidnapped just then, and wanted to read it first.

Oh- I just googled and got it easily - "Catriona"

Anyone read it?

Finished The Assault on Reason a few days ago. Interresting book.

Tim: Yes, one involves a lot of physical and psychological pain, and the other one's war.

That's a phrase that a friend of mine was using over 20 years ago. I don't suppose it was original with him.
