Ehriggin dude, don't reformat it yet.
Have you googled for a patch to kill the individual virus off? I got a 'sobig' variant years ago and I got a friend to google for a killer. You might be able to find something simpler than a reformat if you look around, Norton and McAfee tend to have anti individual virus packs available free on their site.
