Just want to point out clearly that this is not a debate between Christians and scientists, it is a debate between a very few folks claiming to "own" Christianity and the rest of the world, including most of Christianity.

Agreed, And I know that book would annoy you just as much as it would me.
It is pathetic that such a thing can end up in the hands of a child.

I will guess that the moon evolved from thousands of generations of larger and rounder asteroids mating.

NONSENSE.

There is no evidence supporting lunar macro-evolution.

I would use a word much stronger than "annoy", actually...

But folks, one think to realize is that this really IS a joke of a Creationist text. Real young earth creationism is scary... but not quite as obviously wrong, and that is partly why it is so worrisome.

THIS is a better example:
http://www.creationism.org/
Including this bit:
Lots of dragon/dinosaur images, included for educational purposes. Just look at these remains of pre-Flood dinosaur life mass buried only thousands of years ago, as verified by C14 dating. FREE to download and copy. 190 JPG images taken at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Their evolutionary texts included between the photos (with the usual "Rocks Dating Fossils" and "Fossils Dating Rocks" - circular reasoning!) along with a creationist interpretation of the fossil record, below all the free images.

or this

One of my best brief evidences for creation is going out by email each month. Each one is very carefully written so you can use it in your evangelistic conversations or to forward to your friends, etc. To get them to you I need your email address! Please email it to me at: heinze@hevanet.com. Thank you! So far people are loving them, but if you don't like them just ask to be taken off the list. (Your email address will be kept confidential.)

or this:
EVOLUTION 101 - 25 Lessons (IN ENGLISH)

Creation by God supports every one of the laws and principles of science, as cited in these lessons. Evolution violates every one of them. Every so-called scientific fact in support of the general theory of (macro-)evolution from atheistic and anti-theistic scientists is not testable-repeatable.

(note, just google children's books on creationism.......)

They excommunicated scientists for writing what turns out to be the truth. Perhaps the sensible Christians should excommunicate the allegedly Christian science deniers.

Maybe they're still working off the idea that science dictates you have to see, hear, or feel something for it to be real...and since you can't literally look at, listen to, or touch electrons then they aren't real according to science. That somehow seems to require too much creativity on their part though, so maybe I'm reading into it too much.

The part I can't figure out was if only god was there to see what he did, he must have written millions of bibles for people to find and read about his most awesome creationist exploits. However, I am pretty sure all bibles have been made by men. I then wonder why did they write such a book? What did they have to gain?

Ha, the fools! Rocks can't date fossils, nor can fossils date rocks; therefore, their evolution argument has devolved into the invalid. HA!

Well, I seem to remember him being fairly suggestive with Mae Young in one of his little skits once, so fossils definitely aren't out of the question for him

Oh please, if you wish to counter idiocy, you cannot do it by voicing idiocy yourself. God inspired people to write the Bible, gave people the message when people were ready. You will find that ALL religions pretty much give some sort of version of that.
