Ok, so some of his 100 are kinda bullshitty...but the largest part of this is pretty accurate:

It's not really fair to suggest that it's a fair comparison of the two politicians when all of the points focus only on bad aspects.

Good point, ManB.

I mean, Bush 2 and Obama received benefits and money from different interest groups, which then got their "fair" share from the political investment.

Did Bush have good aspects?

(I'm kidding! I am actually a huge fan of his work on African disease problems, for instance.)

my question: would ANY politician of EITHER party do better? personally I don't think so... but then I've completely lost faith in our political system as a whole so my views may be skewed

Yes, that IS the real question.

That, and would Romney do better than Obama.

I am not happy with all Obama has done, by any stretch, but the idea of Romney absolutely terrifies me.

Then the liberal war machine has done its job. ;)

When you people realize (and you may never) that the President does not dictate policy in this country you might see why the 2 parties are so similar. Bush was pro-life, had a republican house and senate yet roe v wade still stands? Obama had a democratic house and senate yet he has not ended the wars in the middle east as "promised"?

It's because they are PAWNS!!!!!!!!! What is it going to take to make you see things are not as they appear???? Every single registered voter could vote Ron Paul this election and Obama or Romney would win. Guaranteed.
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

Vote for the 5% then, at least accomplish something! Don't buy into the bullshit that it's a wasted vote.

unfortunately it pretty much is a waste of time. first off, I don't vote in the local elections because I don't even know who is running much less anything about them... ditto for state elections and state reps to the national level. 2nd, texas votes overwhelmingly republican, by an enormous margin. if I felt like voting republican good, but if not? completely drowned. I categorize myself independent, and have actually voted for both democrats and republicans in various elections, but you know who won? the republican. every time. and it's honestly far more trouble for me to go through the rigmarole to do my absentee ballot than I feel it's worth to have my voice drowned out and not heard anyway.

Isn't it enough to go to whatever voting place is closest to your home and mark a field on a piece of paper?

Yeah, my vote will go to Gary Johnson. He plans to make legal immigration easier, a strategy no doubt influenced by his time as Gov. of New Mexico. He understands that gov't healthcare doesn't work, though I'm not sure anyone has a good alternative?

I'm not a fan on his stance on Gun Rights. In my mind, something has to change to reduce gun violence, but I know this freedom comes with being a libertarian for many people.

The best libertarians can hope for is NOT Mitt Romney. Just because you are a third-party voter doesn't mean you live in this fantasy world.

The two major parties are so entrenched in American society that the best situation probably won't entail a third-party victory...ever. This is because when certain policies become popular, you see one of the two major parties adopting them.

That, my friends, is where we find we have some say and why voting for the candidate you support rather than the candidates the major parties support is so important. Now, if you support President Obama or Governor Romney, then by all means, vote for that person.

If you're overseas and eligible to vote here you get the piece of paper in advance and can send it back with the mail. You don't even have to pay for a stamp. Don't you USA'ers do it that way?

Not if we can get to the 5% for one of the two of them (Stein or Johnson), it isn't.

I don't remember it being that difficult...in fact, I seem to recall it being pretty easy. Have things changed?

honestly it may just be my (lack of) support chain here... everybody starts working for NATO and forgets how to work for the US Military...

that and I live in italy and my support element is in germany... and 90% of the time I seem to be forgotten about until I gone up red on someone's list or another...
