That is God you moron. Jehovah, the God of the Bible is the God of Abraham. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity all believe in the same God regardless of the name.

Here's how it went down:

Abraham and his wife Sara asked God if they would have children. God said "number the stars and so shall your descendants be." However, Sara was getting old and God hadn't came through on his promise. So Sara had Abraham sleep with their servant woman. And she had Ishmael. However, God kept his promise (as He had always intended to) and Sara bore Issac. She told Abraham to cast away this servant woman and her son. He shall not be heir with my son Issac.

And that's how it all began. The arabs (Muslims) the followers of Ishmael and the Jews, the followers of Issac.

Now Christianity came about after the great schism in 66AD where the people who believed that Jesus was the messiah broke off from the rest of the Jews who believed that Jesus was not the messiah. These believers were the first Christians.

Secondly NOWHERE in scripture is God called Allah. They Follow the Koran which is not the Holy Book of Jehovah.

Regardless of where the Islamic religion stemmed from the fact remains that Christians recognize Jesus as the messiah/ God. Islam does not...therfore by lumping them together you equate Islam with Christianity. And you couldn't be more wrong!

I never attended Sunday School, I went to mass once, I took communion once, I attended the Lord's Supper at a Baptist Church once, and I know as much about the Bible as you do. The difference between you and I my friend is that I also know about the history and the connections between the three religions of the God of Abraham. Maybe you should try reading the Koran once. You'd find a mighty assload of similarities between it and The Bible's Old Testament. Same with the Torah.

Read those other two texts and get back to me. Until then, STFU, RTFM, and stop claiming to know what you do not know.

You know what, there's two ways of approaching a problem. One is to mince words and beat around the bush and say things like "well, you need to read this" and "that isn't entirely accurate." The other is to call things as you see them and approach a problem directly and without pause. I call you names like "moron" and "idiot" because you are acting in accordance with the definitions of those terms. So please don't attack my questions on the basis of my ad hominem attacks on you. Question 3: Are you aware that, while the Koran and the Bible believe different things about God, they still believe in the same God that spoke to Abraham and promised him descendants?

What definition do you want?

According to traditional Christian teaching, Jesus is the son of God who died for our sins on the Cross.

According to neospiritualism, Jesus was the wisest man of his fellow jews and was crucified for preaching about the Kingdom of God in a land that already had a king.

Come on! Comparing cooking methods with Jesus and God? How many straws will you grab?

I'm not talking about Jesus! I'm not talking about the Son of God, or the Trinity. I'm talking about God. G-d. Jehovah. The god that gave Moses the 10 Commandments. The God that spoke to Abraham. The God that told Noah to build the Ark.

That God is who I'm talking about. And God in Arabic translates to "Allah." The phrase "Allah Ackbar" means "God is great." Allah isn't the arabic god's name, Allah means the capital-G God.

Is the fog lifting yet? By putting YVHV, G-d, God, and Allah in the same category I'm saving space. There's a limit on the number of options a poll can have. And since they are all different ways of referring to the same God, it makes sense to make them one option.

Yes. Yes it is. I never claimed that this poll was anything more than a lark (for proof of this LOOK AT THE TITLE OF THE THREAD!) From all appearances you are the one who doesn't get it.

Also, I already have a paid premium membership. I added Lack and Twill because they are the "gods" of the Conquer Club universe. If this poll were on Slashdot, I would've put CowboyNeal on there. Just because I am a minister doesn't mean I can't have a sense of humor. Reverendship doesn't make me a DSer like some people I know.

(Actually, on a side note, I did add CowboyNeal at first. I trimmed him out to avoid the "Who's CowboyNeal?" posts.)
