The best Beatles' song

Postby Juan_Bottom on Sun Sep 30, 2012 8:11 pm

I've been listening to the Beatles for like 4 days now. Why are they so good?! Are they better than Queen?

to be fair, it's easy to be overrated when lots of people consider you the greatest band ever.

1) I don't know why they were so good. There comes a time when everything just clicks and that's what happened. I'm going to predict that 300 years from now they will still be playing their music just as people still play that music that bratty little punk Mozart made today.

2) I'm going to go the diplomatic route and say nothing. ;) I mean this is like comparing Bach and Beethoven.

anyway, the best song is While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and that's 100% because Clapton plays the solo in it.

I like the Beatles a great deal. They're not better than Queen, though, as I consider Queen to be the greatest band ever formed.

By the way...Yellow Submarine. You cannot argue with this.

I might argue against The Beatles being overrated, but I will not argue that Yellow Submarine is overrated.

No Beatles means no Queen. I wouldn't like to chose between the two, however.

Perhaps. Though I'm not convinced, as Freddie Mercury clearly had a LOT of different influences.

No doubt about that, but the Beatles were certainly a big influence, I have no lack of love for Queen. One of the reasons I like them is that they took the musical traditions that went before them and made them fun.

One of the greatest bands of all time. Their music and lyric writing capabilities are probably unmatched is what makes them so good.

Agree.

I think the real question in this thread should be why didn't the Beatles and Queen merge in the 70's to become the greatest band that ever could be?

A band that can come up with the lyrics:

"Just a man, with a man's courage

Nothing, but a man, who can never fail"

Is nothing short of brilliant.
