if White Supremists are killing people because they are tired of illegal immigration, and Trump stops illegal immigration to a massively significant level.. Trump is removing their reason to be angry.. removing their reason to want to kill

What would a game changer for Chicago for look like? Pay people to leave? Bicycle cops on every corner? Cameras everywhere? Tax free employment?

That would be my first choice too, but few people would take that option. For most people, staying in the circle of people and places they know is important. Starting over somewhere else may be objectively the best thing, but subjectively the idea of leaving behind your friends and your family and your whole support network is just too scary.HitRed wrote:What would a game changer for Chicago for look like? Ultimately I don't think there's any point asking people to leave. The trend over time is for societies to get more urbanized, not less. Cities are getting bigger, and pushing some people out today is just making more room for the ones who come tomorrow. You won't change an overall trend.
More cameras help a little bit, but only a little bit. They won't stem the tide.
Really there's two major things you need to do. First is end the War on Drugs. Eliminates three-quarters of the gang warfare and probably at least half the murders. Put the drugs in the hands of trained and licensed dispensers in legal, taxpaying establishments.
Second, and I think you know this, is stop making the guns so ridiculously easy to get. End mail-order and other ways of getting a gun anonymously. Make sure that to buy a gun, someone has to show up at a licensed gun shop, put their thumbprint on a license application, and show proof-of-age. Personally, I'd want them to also show proof of gainful employment, but that might be a really hard sell politically.
No handguns to anyone under 25, ever. (Except maybe for training purposes, at a certified range, under supervision.) They're just not emotionally stable enough. Long guns with small magazines are okay for younger people, provided that they've passed a certified gun safety course. It's good for a kid to learn early on how to hunt his own food. Of course, if someone in Chicago came and asked me for a .306, I'd ask pointed questions about what they hunt and where.

I am glad there are so many guns in America.. it means no army can successfully invade us..
a citizen armed resistance is not something to F with..
London banned guns basically and killers turned to knives.. there are multiple knife attacks daily in London..
the weapon isn't the problem. the problem is the reason why are the killers wanting to kill
the El Paso shooter was tired of illegal immigrants invading his country.
Trump has been trying to stop illegal immigration..
is Trump solving the problem of the weapon or the problem of the reason.. ?
the answer is trying to solve the problem of the reason..
if White Supremists are killing people because they are tired of illegal immigration, and Trump stops illegal immigration to a massively significant level.. Trump is removing their reason to be angry.. removing their reason to want to kill
thus solving the problem..
