America is politically divided and it has been growing. Why?

I blame Bush and no child left behind. For those people from states with less than stellar public school systems and who were early to adopt standardized testing and allow charter schools critical thinking went out the window. So you have those who can piece the puzzle together and those who can only regurgitate what they are told

Best thing to have is Freedom of Speech. Cancel culture goes against that. Knocking people off youtube and Twitter only puts people in an echo chamber where their ideas can be more radicalized left or right. Open discussion brings moderation in my humble opinion.

when the truth is manipulated its time for those things to go. The problem is to many people can no longer think for themselves. Your own post is an example of this. When people cant distinguish propaganda from reality its a problem and history has already shown us what happens then

Are you going to yell fire in a crowded theater, even if there's no fire? A stampede that could lead to people being harmed.

The mods still aren't going to let you preach in OT though.
