this was a freaking amazing show, it started out with this nice slower more 2 tone but still a bit third wave new ska band from Idaho Falls. That was pretty exciting most of them were kids from skyline and I actually knew the drummer from debate. They started out pretty slow and generic. Their lead singer/talker was quite generic at first, but then they started to play. The were quite amazing. I started to skank. It was quite amazing. I was actually the only one skanking because the rest of the people in idaho falls I guess never listened to ska. Alot of them made a good attempt and the skanking pit was sort of slow paced so it was excellent for skanking.

the second bandwas really good also. They were sort of a rocksteady ska rap band with a psychedelic keyboardist. There were so many different pace changes in this band's songs, but it wasn't tacky to the point of where they were like dinosaur jr. Their lead singer was also really good at getting a crowd pumped up. All of the sudden I was skanking in the pit and he stopped me and started to serenade me and sing to me. If I was a girl I would have totally gotten wet, and I don't mean in the way of how I was completely soaked from sweat between mine and everyone elses because it was so fucking hot in there. I had my shirt on and it was completely soaking wet I had to wring it out before this band by taking it off. It was crazy. Then later afterwards I was standing next to this really cute girl(who actually had my dad for a teacher) and dancing for the thing and the singer was singing to the front row. That was also really cool. This band played for a long freaking time and it was playing for like an hour and fifteen minutes and it was all good even though I felt like I was going to puke from dancing so hard and was freaking hot and wanted fresh air. They ended with a really good rap ska cover of werewolves of london. Their lead singer did a stage dive into the crowd and we all held him up there it was way cool.

The third band was the headlining band. This had to have been a really good "we're not just a local band anymore" experience for them. They were headlining the show which actually made me sort of sad because I had to leave early, but either ways they were headlining over a traveling band all of the way from boston. Their first song was sort of a intro get you pumped up with no lyrics song. Then they played my second favorite song which is nothing is something .I absolutely <3 this song. I sang almost all of the words because I had them memorized while I skanked my heart out and lost my breath to the point of where I almost passed out from skanking so hard while singing. It was SOOOOOOOOO worth it though. After that I went and stood up in the very front row and they played a few more songs which I pretty much skanked in place during while standing next to the same cute girl mentioned above, plus other cute girls who knew the opskamatrist lyrics a little better than I did. While I was up there I saw their set list and saw that my favorite song by them ICUN was 5th. I looked at the time on my cellphone and calculated that I had just enough time to stay for that song and then we would have to leave:( that was way sad. Anyways so they started to go into ICUN and the guitarist's guitar was out of tune. The lead singer who of course was dressed up and looked very nice that day was like, "dude, are you going to tune that?" While he was tuning it, they did a big intro for their new drummer LIAM!!! Liam I had already sort of known who was because he is drummer of my camera(maybe still?) and he was drummer of fly fight crow who are both VERY VERY VERY VERY awesome bands. That was way fun. Then they went into ICUN and I sang along all the words because this actually is a song that I know every single word to and it is way word for word. About the middle of the song the lead singer realized I was singing along and as he grabbed his trumpet he pointed and me and was like yeah! that had to have been a "man, we're big" moment for him. After that we had to leave and I got Zach to lend me some dough to buy a cd which I am really excited about.

This show was not only fun because of the music though, the people there were really cool. When Zach and I got there we saw Jordan W. who is someone that i've known for quite a while and he's way cool. He tried to be fashionably late by coming at 745 which actually ended up being 15 minutes early. It didn't actually start til 9 anyways. So Zach Jordan and I just sort of hung out and played pool. Halfway through the show we saw Craig Bakker he's way good at getting people into shows and is a way fucking fun guy to be around. We hung out with him for quite a bit and through him met a guy named John I think who has a fro and is way cool and goes to skyline. His whole family was at the show and his mom was drunk as f*ck. She was way fun to watch. As we were going in to watch the second band this girl came up to me and was like "You're a gottlob huh?" I was like yeah. Turns out she had my dad for a teacher and used to be friends with my teacher she was like "Sorry for being creepy" I assured her she wasn't and that I get that alot because I really do.

Yeah thats my story of what happened tonight. That's probably as long as freaking harry potter... I don't blame you if you don't read it.

Grass is a common word that generally describes a monocotyledonous green plant in the family Poaceae. True grasses include most plants grown as cereals, for pasture, and for lawns. They include some more specialised crops such as lemongrass, as well as many ornamental plants, and some weeds. They also include plants often not considered to be grasses, such as bamboos.

The term 'grass' is sometimes used to describe related plants in the rush (Juncaceae) and sedge (Cyperaceae) families, that resemble grass somewhat. It may also be used to describe other unrelated plants, sometimes of similar appearances to grass, with leaves rising vertically from the ground, and sometimes of dissimilar appearance.

Grasses and grass-like plants have proven to be among the most versatile of life forms, thriving on every continent except Antarctica. Plants having grasslike structures have existed for millions of years, providing fodder for Cretaceous dinosaurs, whose fossilized dung contains phytoliths of a variety of grasses that include the ancestors of rice and bamboo (Piperno & Sues, 2005). Grasses have adapted to conditions in lush rain forests, dry deserts, and cold mountain steppes, and are presently the most widespread of all plant types. Plants of this type have always been important to human beings. They provide the majority of food crops, and have numerous other uses, such as feeding animals, and for lawns. There are numerous minor uses, and grasses are familiar to most human cultures.

Grasses and grass-like plants have long had significance in human society, having been cultivated as food for domesticated animals for up to 10,000 years. (See grass fed beef.) They have been used for paper-making since at least 2400 BCE.

The maintenance of a grass lawn is a sign of a homeowner's responsibility to the overall appearance of their neighborhood. Many municipalities and homeowner's associations have rules about this. Some require lawns to be maintained to certain specifications, sanctioning those who allow the grass to grow too long. In communities with drought problems, watering of lawns may be restricted to certain times of day or days of the week.

Grass is also used in several contexts in sports, most notably with sports played on fields such as football, cricket, baseball, and soccer. In football, grass may be replaced with astroturf, an artificial substitute. Two sports, golf and tennis, are particularly dependent on the quality of the grass on which the sport is played.
Tennis play on the grass court of Wimbledon. The player's service area is heavily trodden.

In tennis, grass is grown on very hard-packed soil, and bounces may vary depend on how healthy the grass is, how recently it has been mowed, and the wear and tear of recent play. The most famous grass tennis court in the world is Centre Court at Wimbledon. Tennis, however, is usually played on clay courts, and only a few regular tennis tournaments are played on a grass court. The surface is less firm than hard courts, causing the ball to bounce lower, and so players must reach the ball faster. Due to high maintenance costs however, grass courts are now rare as they must be watered and mowed often, and take a longer time to dry after rain than hard courts.

Golf, on the other hand, is always played on grass, and is dependant on the maintenance of a very large area of well-cut grass. Grass on golf courses is kept in three distinct conditions, that of the rough, the fairway, and the putting green. Grass on the fairway is kept very short and even, allowing the player to cleanly strike the ball, while playing from the rough is a disadvantage because the grass in the rough is generally much longer, which may affect the flight of the ball. Grass on the putting is the shortest and most even of all, ideally allowing the ball to slide smoothly over the surface. An entire industry revolves around the development and marketing of grasses for golf courses.

Several idioms evoke images of grass. For example:

* "The grass is always greener on the other side [of the fence]" suggests that the greenness of grass is a positive quality, and reflects the general sentiment that people believe their neighbors to have fewer troubles than themselves..
* "Don't let the grass grow under your feet" references the speed with which grass grows. Grass grows slowly and so this statement means to say "don't waste time and be slow, get it done . . ."
* "A snake in the grass" literally cautions about the dangers that may be hidden in plants that cover the ground, and is generally used to describe treacherous people or things.

Local. Well one was from MA so I'm not sure how local they were, because we live in ID. I hadn't heard of them before.
