I think Sony is dead in the video game industry after this. It was that bad a failure for them. In addition to the non-selling of PS3's, it looks as if BluRay will not fare well against HD-DVD, leading to Sony's demise. Microsoft is really the only opponent left, and I think that these two will be at it for a long while.

Did they think everyone will buy the 600euro game that is more of the same with better graphics over the 225euro game that is innnovative and different than ever before? Not everyone has an extra 600 euros to spend (I do, but I still think it would be a waste of money). Wii is still selling out today, while the PS3 is staying on the shelves.

A price drop combined with the releases of MGS4, Haze and Killzone 2 in 2008 will restore the faith.

Why did the PS3 have a bad launch?

Haha, No You Num wits. Sorry MM, The PS3 is not going to see a huge jump in sales for one major reason, Titles. Consoles don't sell consoles, Titles do. Thats why both the Wii and the PS3 are going to drop drastically in sales. And who ever said that 360 does where lacking originality, you obviously have never even played a few of them. The games on the 360 HAVE THE MOST. No I don't care if the Wii's control seems to make games original, thats the console not the game. Have you even seen XMA? The developers platform that lets you make games for the Arcade? Its an open developing platform for the unknown gamers. Have you seen Assassins creed or Mass Effect? The Wii is relying on old time franchise like Metriod, Zelda, and Mario to help boosts its sales and have considerably slowed down in creating new franchises. Now why they finally have opened up a bit to Third Party consumers most have just been ports. These trends show no sign of changing. Unless something Miraculous happens, the 360 has already won this generation, whether you think so or not, numbers prove it. Also can someone explain that one guys sales argument to me?

XMA sounds like an amazing idea I'll give Microsoft that one as a genius idea. But how good can you make games on that? Are they even worth playing?

Who said sequels are exactly the same? Unlike Halo, Nintendo actually does change their game by a lot once in a while (the most recent being Mario Strikers Charged).

How do you know if they show no signs of changing? You don't know that and neither do I. Most Wii games actually have extra features than the other games. (Madden, FIFA, Guitar Hero, Resident Evil 4 (not so much but still)

Numbers prove that even with the 1 1/2 year head start, the Wii has more units sold. In 8 months.

I also have respect for Sony and Microsoft (plenty of classics on the PS2, which I still use today). I just think the PS3 was a little too overpriced for them to sell like the Wii did.

The console itself isn't that expensive, the Blu-Ray player inside it most certainly IS. Costs about £1100 to make a PS3, and Sony sell them for £425. Most people miss this fact.

And this fact is even funnier when you hear about the new £899 iPhones!
