I was just being honest... I don't even like Christmas. It's far too commercial for my liking... Christmas is about the birth of Jesus Christ, not Santa, bright coniferous trees and really really bad music. You should spend the season giving to the poor, praying and with the ones you love and then f*ck all the damned trees and toys! That's what I have to say...

Bleh, to be honest I don't really care that much about the birth of Jesus. Though I know what meaning it has to true Christians. As for me, I love the trees, and the excitement, and the spirit, and all of it. And if the presents are consumerism, then whatever, I like. it. ;)

You like the music?

You hideously scary person.

I always thought of christmas as a sort of birthday party for Jesus. But everyone gets presents instead of just him.

And what would Jesus do on his birthday? I imagine he'd go out, heal a few lepers, feed some poor people, save a woman from being stoned to death, you know, the usual... What do we do?
Hmmm, I've never seen anybody so excited of N64. As for myself I'm Jewish, I do nothing on Christmas.

Christmas has been modernized into another time for greedy people to get presents.

I agree, you should give to the poor and spend time with the ones you love and all that, the presents and the cozy christmas decorations are just a bonus.
Though I have to admit that some of the cheesy christmas decoration now-a-days are too flashy. Personally I prefer the classy white lights to the many colored ones. And I hate how all the stores puts their decorations up two months before christmas.

Well now that everybody has said how much they dislike the modern Christmas, start writing a story and spreading Christmas cheer!

Tip: Christmas-related avys and sigs won't hurt, not to mention being nice to everybody.

Yeas, well, December 25th wasn't even the day Jesus was born. It was originally a Pagan festival that Constantine (or so people say) incorporated so Pagans would be more into Christianity, or something along those lines.

Yeah, well, Jesus didn't even historically exist. Heand his story was a metaphore developed by sun-worshipping Egyptians to symbolize the human life and guide them to live morally. He was passed down and evolved as he changed cultures. Jesus is Greek for Joshua. Eventually, his cult, which would become the first Christians made the stories literal, believing them to be history. Then Constantine came and, most of you know the rest...

I read this all in The Pagan Christ by some Anglican bishop, can't remember his name...

Edit: Tom Harpur. Apparntly there's a documentary on his book out.

Also, I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I actually think the metaphorical Jesus is better than a historical Jesus could ever be. He is a lesson, instead of a excuse to 'sin' however you want 'cause, hey, you're already forgiven, eh?

I learned something completely different... If there was Christ, specifically, at his time he was nothing special. There were lots of people that were claiming to be the Savior of the Jews back then... So, a while after his death, Paul, I believe it was, started trying to spread Jesus's supposed word (the New Testament) in Rome (where it was outlawed at he time). Then Constantine comes along, makes it legal AND the dominant religion and uses it as a political tool. 1500 or so years later, here we are.
In heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine, in heaven... Everything is fine... You got your things, and I've got mine.

lol I forgot to mention that it's very nice of you. I just joined a few days ago so I'm guessing I don't deserve premium yet, but I'll be more than happy to spread a little christmas spirit! I know I could use some.
