Way back when, someone convicted of a sex crime would have a sign over their head while they were being mocked in the town square saying For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Victorian era - no one was allowed to talk about sex - bad word.

Finally that piece of trivia gets used.

Supposedly, the first bad 4 letter word was YHWH or something. Saying Yahweh's name in vain or something of that sort.

wasnt for sex crimes. it was for all sex out side of marriage. they would also post signs on top of peoples doors that said...Fornication Under the Kings Consent, back when they had kings. And it was used to prove marriage.
