I'm pretty sure you will have to buy a domain name too. And understand site programming. And have lots of time to fix it (or else the site will be crap) How about you make a RPG instead? :)

and lets just say programing isn't something an 11 year old just "picks up" most go to college, or take summer courses on how to, and without looking at any of the age forums (if lacks posted there) I'd guess he's in his late 20's and graduated college, mostly because he's done a great job maintaining the site and thinks before he speaks.

Max, wait until you're older before you start thinking about these things. Your brain isn't even fully developed yet (the frontal lobe develops through your mid teens). Get lots of sleep.

I didn't vote.

Why? The forum here is:
General Discussion
Talk about all things related to Conquer Club

Shouldn't this be in the forum GENERAL DISCUSSION about things NOT related to Conquer Club? Lack was nice enough to leave a forum open where everyone can talk about anything.

On many sites it would be the job of a Moderator to MOVE this thread. But if it was in a proper place, that would not have to be done.

Also: Beware Hasbro/Milton Bradley that have the copywrite on Monopoly. They would frown on anyone offering a game online that they own. You might want to change it a bit, in title, and game play, from what Hasbro offers. Maybe change the name to: "The Game That is Like That Game that All Ages can Play and it uses Money and Cards and Land Aquisitions and Such"

Keep thinkin' though, Max. I like your style. You seem fairly smart, and maybe you could find your niche in something similar. Go for your dreams!

well buddy, i'll give you the fact that you have ambitions. If you can actually manage to do this, well props to you. But just a warning, that making something like this is far from easy. programing and coding are tedious and difficult. A small typo can mess up all your coding and etc. If you've never done this before, you should try to just mess around with simple programing software. Try making visual basics programs, which are easy to make, and will give u a sense of how programing feels.

It's a decent idea max is gr8, but you won't be able to do it.

It would be a real bitch to program. Conquer club IE: Risk, is a much easier game to program into PHP and what-not, but Monopoly would be much more complicated.

Your much better off programming an original online game of your own make :)

I programmed my first online game several years ago and it was a lot of fun and really taught me a lot about PHP & MySQL. Although closed it down since I couldn't dedicated the right amount of time to it (1,200 Players :))

I say go for it max. It definatly isn't going to be easy but if you really apply yourself you should be able to do it.

Although as has been said this really should have been in off topic. Maybe Lack could move it for you.

Has anyone layed monpoly on the old cases ladder?

I use to play there all the time w/ the old hasbro version. It was a good time untill I quit... then I came back and the ladder died due to drama between players and the general outdating of the game...

Ahh, the good ole days of dial up *tear*

i know you really want to do this but, believe me, you won't be able to do it at least in the near future...

i know how to program (right now as i write this, i'm doing a C++ project for a programming course i'm taking at university) and believe me, when your program finally works its pure satisfaction and you feel like if you were the best programmer in the world, but whilst you're at it, its hard, frustrating, tedious, frustrating, difficult, frustrating and fucking frustrating (did i mention how frustrating it was??)... nothing works and you don't have an idea why, everything looks like it should work but it just doesn't... it can take you hours to find a simple mistake or to realize how to make things work...

i agree with dissolution, you should first try visual basic (you can download a free Express version in microsoft's site) and once you've got the hang of it, try going for PHP.

i've tried php before, i made a much simpler site (a soccer prediction game for the world cup) and it was really fucking hard (really, lack must be a real pro)

and by the way, if you expect lack to teach you, don't be so optimistic. i don't think lack has the time or is willing to teach how to do this to some unknown player of a game he made... you would have to take programming courses or be self-taught...
