So who here is stockpiling food?

Postby Dancing Mustard on Fri Oct 03, 2008 10:48 am

I hear a lot of talk about people saying you should start stockpiling food, or polish up your best guns. But who here is actually taking the plunge and filling their basement with canned goods and ammunition?

I went down to the supermarket to see if I could get my hands on some canned goods. They only had two items that people hadn't already grabbed, 'N Sync fruit snacks and babies. To be honest, I'm with Nick. I'd rather eat babies than 'N Sync fruit snacks.

We got plenty in can goods and the freezer, and my Aunt has two freezer's full of this and last year's catfish that we caught. We are not starving anytime soon.

If Xtra was around, he would tell you that he has been stockpiling for the last ten years, I think.

efoodsdirect.com..... appearantly that's where everyone is getting there food. A one years supply for 1 adult is only $1,600.00
It's storable for years.

But yes, I have a food "stache." I've got a giant garden all in order for next spring too. My neighbor raises chickens, and I have worked out a deal to get free eggs. Now that the bill has passed, and we are pretty much guaranteed a recession, I won't doubt that a depression is unlikely. Lucky me that I live in the boonies... I can skin a buck, I can run a trotline, I can roast a dove, and I think that I'd be fine. But I doubt that any of this will be funny if an actual deppression does hit. It really isn't funny now.

Guns won't do anything for you unless you're hunting. Everyone has a gun. Ever wonder what happens when someone points a gun at someone who also has a gun? Not to mention those of you who are Christian are charged to starve to death before you would ever steal.

Pays to be a Godless heathen, eh? I can take whatever I want. Conscience, or whatever the hell it's supposed to be, never gets in the way.

Nonesense. The last thing I would ever want to be, is a theif. I may be a Heathen, but I do have a conscience.

But that does not prohibit me from using other peoples faiths against them! ;)

I will wait in the dark, damp alleys and scurry out with the rest of my kin as soon as the upper class tosses out their refuse for the evening.

Does the gunpowder ever degrade? This is probably a stupid question, but you would be more like to experience misfires with ammunition 20 years old versus ammunition less than 2 years old?

I'm honestly asking, I don't really know.
