Just use Google's image search and narrow it down to small images. That's how I get most of mine.

just get a free simple image resizing program off of download.com, there are tons of them. Then you can find any picture anywhere on the internet that you like and resize it to use as an avatar. The simple resizing programs are very easy to use and you don't need experience in photo editing to learn to use them.

If you can find a program that also has cropping, that might be useful if you find a picture that maybe you like a small part of, or if there is a picture of many people/characters and you just want one of them as your avatar, you can just crop the rest of the picture around it.

Yeah just use google and then resize it with a program, or even on photobucket.

Avatars on CC do NOT need to be resized unless you want them to be animated.
