Postby Juan_Bottom on Wed Nov 05, 2008 9:07 pm

OK, Enough people, please!!!

Haven't you all already had enough of the election? Dear Todd, please stop making more and more threads about it!

Can I get some support here? I've waited and waited for it to end so I wouldn't have to deal with it anymore!!!!! GAH!

I am in high school, and half of the classes today were taken up by discussing the results. I agree whole heartedly.

Its prolly best to get used to it. People are going to be bitter about it for a while. No one likes to see liberals happy.

Yeah, it'll take a week or so for it to die down, especially since some people are still watching their own elections (Oregon's Smith-Merkley race being a good example), so there's still some hype.

Then it'll pick back up again when Obama gets inaugurated and last through his firs 100 days, then die down again.

Don't you worry young Bottom, it only hurts for a month or so.

Yep. People only care about national issues long enough to see their "team" "win," celebrate post-game, then they'll go back to ignoring everything until the next season.

I'm serious... I'm really frusterated by the reaction of my completely liberal school. They act as if, just because they supposed Obama to be the better candidate, now they won the election, meaning they're in charge now... meaning they won't give enough of a shit to actually pay attention to what Obama does. I supported him as a fairly superior candidate, but I do not expect him to be perfect, and it's definitely not time for us to stop watching him. Now's the time to start paying more attention, once he takes office this January.

Choosing a candidate that becomes president is like placing a bet... don't stop paying attention until after you find out if you won or not.

It behooves both parties to instill that sort of an attitude in Americans. It makes for loyalty to a party rather than to a policy.

You didn't. You tried to vote McCain, but then you were infected by his senility and voted Obama instead.
