      show: Scoring
This tournament will use three different kinds of points - Round Points , Event Points , and Standings Points . The Standings Points are the most important, since the team that wins the tournament will be the team that collects the most Standings Points over all five individual events. The individual event spoilers have more details on what kinds of points will be awarded in each event, and how those points are to be earned.

      show: Tiebreakers
Tiebreakers will be broken by any means possible. If a tie cannot be broken by any means, tied players/teams will each receive the same number of points (whichever type(s) of points are to be received). If two or more teams are tied for first overall at the end of the tournament, the winning team will be determined by the number of individual events in which each of the tied teams placed higher than one or more of the other tied teams.

      show: Fencing
One player per team Games will be played on the Iberia map, to celebrate the sport's Spanish roots. Players will be divided into groups of 3. Each player will play 2 1v1 matches against each of the other players in their group, and will be awarded 1 Round Point for each win. Round Points do not carry over into succeeding rounds. The 2 players in each group with the most Round Points will be again placed into groups of 3. Each player will again play 2 1v1 matches against each of the other players in their group, and will be awarded 1 Round Point for each win. The 2 players in each second-round group with the most Round Points will be placed into a bracket, where the first player to win 2 matches will advance to the next round. No Round Points will be awarded once bracket play has begun. Each player will receive 1 Event Point at the start of the event. Players finishing second in their group in a group round will receive an additional half of an Event Point. Players finishing first in their group in a group round will receive 1 additional Event Point. Players will also receive 1 Event Point for advancing to another round of the bracket. Players who complete an entire group stage or bracket round without losing a game will receive half of an Event Point in addition to the Event Point they receive for finishing first in their group or advancing to the next round of the bracket. Each player will receive 1 Standings Point at the start of the event, and will be awarded 1 additional Standings Point for each player finishing with less Event Points.

      show: Shooting
One player per team - CANNOT be the same player competing in Fencing Players will be divided into 12 groups of 6. Each group will play 5 assassin games on randomly chosen war maps (see spoiler below). Example to illustrate scoring: let us suppose that green is red's target. If red kills green, red will earn 2 Round Points and green will lose 1 (a player can have a negative number of Round Points). If, however, yellow kills green, yellow will lose 2 Round Points, but neither red nor green would gain or lose any Round Points. Round Points will carry over to succeeding rounds for tiebreaking purposes. The 2 highest-scoring players in each group will receive 1 Event Point each and go through to the next round, where they will be placed in 4 groups of 6 and play 5 more Assassin games. The 2 highest-scoring players in each of these groups will receive 1 Event Point each and go through to the next round, where they will be placed in 2 groups of 4 and play 5 more Assassin games. The 2 highest-scoring players in each of these groups will receive 1 Event Point each and go through to the final round, where they will be placed in a 1 group of 4 and play 5 more Assassin games. If a tie between two or more players that would determine who advances and who does not cannot be broken in any other way, the tied players will continue playing Assassin games until a winner is determined. Each player will receive 1 Standings Point at the start of the event, and will be awarded 1 additional Standings Point for each player finishing below them.

      show: Show Jumping
One doubles team - To consist of the two players who do not compete in either Fencing or Shooting Games will be played on the Circus Maximus map. Each team will make its way around a course of 24 fences (games). Teams will be randomly paired for each fence. The losing team in each game will get 4 faults for failing the jump. The winning team will get 1 time fault if the game lasts more than 8 rounds, 2 time faults for more than 12 rounds, and 3 time faults for more than 16 rounds. Each team will receive a number of Event Points equal to 100-x, where x is the number of faults the team was given over their 24 fences. Each team will receive 1 Standings Point at the start of the event, and will be awarded 1 additional Standings Point for each team finishing with less Event Points.

      show: Synchronized Swimming
2 doubles teams All 4 team members will take part as 2 doubles teams - Show Jumping teams in one pool, other players in a second pool. Each doubles team will play 24 games. Games will be played on randomly chosen aquatic maps (see spoiler below). Teams will be randomly paired for each round (BUT - if Show Jumping Team 1 faces Show Jumping Team 2, non-Show Jumping Team 1 will face non-Show Jumping Team 2). Event Points are determined by how close (in rounds) the Show Jumping and non-Show Jumping teams finish their 2 games (synchronization). Hostage holding to maximize synchronization will NOT under any circumstances, and will result in severe penalties. If both teams win The 4-player team gets 18 Event Points - (the difference in rounds) If one team wins and the other loses The 4-player team gets 12 Event Points - (the difference in rounds) If both teams lose The 4-player team gets 6 Event Points - (the difference in rounds) A 4-player team cannot score less then 0 Event Points in a round. Each team will receive 1 Standings Point at the start of the event, and will be awarded 1 additional Standings Point for each team finishing with less Event Points.

      show: Cross-Country Relay
All four team members in a 1v1 relay. Each relay will start with the first members of each team (the fencers) playing a 1v1 game on a randomly chosen country map (see spoiler below). The winner of this game will pass the baton to the next member of their team (the shooter), who will then play a 1v1 game against the loser of the previous game on a map bordering or adjacent to the map used for the first game. The show jumper on each team whose username is first alphabetically will run the third leg of the relay for his team - his show jumping partner will run the fourth and last leg. This will continue until all members of one team have won a game - that team has then won the relay. Teams will be randomly placed into groups of three, where they will run 1 relay against each of the other teams in their group, and earn 1 Round Point for each relay they win. Round Points do not carry over into succeeding rounds. The two teams in each group with the most Round Points will be placed again into groups of 3. The process will repeat itself, with the two teams in each group with the most Round Points being placed into a bracket, where only 1 relay win will be required to advance to the next round. No Round Points will be awarded once bracket play has begun. Each team will receive 1 Event Point at the start of the event. Teams finishing second in their group in a group round will receive an additional half of an Event Point. Teams finishing first in their group in a group round will receive 1 additional Event Point. Teams will also receive 1 Event Point for advancing to another round of the bracket. Winning a relay in 4 games will earn a team an additional quarter of an Event Point. Winning both relays of a single group stage in 4 games will earn a team half of an Event Point in addition to the half of an Event Point the team receives for winning each relay in 4 games. Each team will receive 1 Standings Point at the start of the event, and will be awarded 1 additional Standings Point for each team finishing with less Event Points.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... li=1#gid=0 Note on Teams I have randomly chosen 72 of the countries competing in this year's Olympic Games and assigned them to the teams in this tournament just to break to monotony of "Team 1, Team 2, Team 3..."
The country you are representing has NO impact whatsoever on any aspect of the tournament. Notes Tournament begins (hopefully) on July 27th to coincide with the Opening Ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics. Sign up now to get the ball rolling! This tournament is part of CC Summer Olympics Bash . Everybody receives 2 invites for joining games. After missing 2 invites player will be replaced by a reserve. Any issues will be solved by the tournament organizer and his word is final.
