Assuming Freemium is ok... (also, how many slots are required? If 1, sign me up for sure. if 2 I may need to do a bit of messing around due to other tournaments I am signed up for that have not yet started, but it is probably still possible. As soon as the current game I am in finishes up I am ok either way)

- Your name : Demonscarnage
- Your score : 1018
- Your choosen map (8 players, not beta) : 8 Thoughts
- Standard/Terminator : Standard
- No Spoils/Flat/Escalating : Escalating
- Chained/Adjacent/Unlimited : Chained

Mgall

Score at the moment is 2242 (major)

- Map: Supermax Prison Riot/Waterloo. Most maps are okay, though, except for City Mogul, the age of realms maps, discworld or midkemdil.
Standard and terminator is fine by me. If any of the two I prefer terminator.
- Flat, but no spoils can also be accepted.
- Chained/Adjacent/Unlimited. I'm indifferent, but chained if anything.

On second thought, it would probably be best if I didn't join. Sounds fun though.

edit: guess I'm in ;)

Sorry for the lack of updates. Have been away this weekend celebrating my gf's birthday (one of the reasons why I placed the starting day AFTER this weekend ;) ) but I am updating tomorrow again as usual.

Re: The winner takes a little bit (Starting Round 1)[Prize!]

Postby OliverFA on Tue Apr 21, 2009 5:05 pm

In 5 minutes it will be April 22nd (at least here in GMT+1 timezone ;) ) so the Tournament is finally starting!

The first 256 players to join have been distributed acording to their score in 32 groups. Each group follows a tennis-like distribution, with top 4 players and top bottom players acording to CC score. If the score means anything, the top 4 players of each group should pass to second round. Also, the first 32 players have been assigned different groups so they don't fight each other. Players 33-64 have also been distributed to different groups and so on.

If a players fails to join without giving a reason, he will be substituted by one of the reserves. The reserve will be "misplaced" acording to this CC score, but I can't change all groups. Anyway, for tie breakers is the substitute player score and not the original player score the one that will be used.

Don't expect all 32 games to be created today. I will be creating them slowly a few each day. I prefer to do it in this way, because if I have to wait for a moment in which I have the time to create the full 32 games I will never do it.

After one or two week, we will talk about the choice (not the obligation) to play additional simultaneous games to speed up the tournament.

Standings are in the first page. I expect to update them regularly (not much work to do. Just change the Excel sheet and upload the new image). If the image does not change, reload or clear the cache.

IMPORTANT: If you cannot join your game for a valid reason, please PM so we can wait for you. If you don't do that you will be replaced by a reserve after a few days.

I want to thank to everybody who joined the game for your interest. Finally it was 280 players. Thanks to all!

I am afraid I spent most of the time answering PMs  so I only could create 2 games.

PS: Never place all the tournament players in the CC field instead of the BCC or you will get dozens of messages warning you that someone could use that list to spam everybody else

Will we be PMed the game #?

Just want to make sure I don't miss out on the fun. :)

Hello 2dank. You are in group 21, so you will be in a game, don't worry ;)

Yesterday I spent all the time discussing about CC and BCC  I am creating the games now. 5 over 32 have been created yet. I'll create as many as possible. Hopefully all of them. If not, I will create the remaining ones tomorrow.

Good luck!

Apologies to those who have PMed me and have not received a response. It has been a lot of messages, and only limited time for answering and creating games. I will answer all of you even if it's a couple of days late.

Right. One of the group 6 games is in fact group 5. But because games cannot be renamed (or I don't know how to do it) and some players had already joined, I decided not to delete and recreate the game.

The reason for creating some upper groups is because I was answering some PMs from players in those groups, and I wanted to answer their message and provide the game information in the same PM.

Apologies for the 128 players who don't have their game created yet. As I said, I will try to do it tomorrow. But unfortunatelly time is limited and only a limited number of things can be done with the time we have.

your going to resend invitations to some people as my mailbox was flooded with autorplies or sends or whatever, and the invitation was buried in 30 msgs that all looked the same

most people will just delete all 30 msgs without hunting in each msgs that looks near identical for their game number
