Groups are set, and as soon as I finish writing this post I begin to make games. My math was bad for how many games you have to play, those numbers have been adjusted to almost unilaterally lower. Scoresheet will be edited into the third post shortly.

I'm really looking forward to this tournament, but I think I'll hate the map something fierce after a few days :)

Just joining all the round 1 games will be a hassle...

Edit: Thanks for running this tournament, btw. Must take ages to make all the games!

Scores updated. So far, the only group to finish anything has been the Narcoleptic, but they are 7 games into the round and cruising. Hopefully other groups join soon. And Watch This Game is straight amazing...

Have to admit man, at first I was pretty upset at myself for joining this. But now I understand the format better, and see you are running it and updating it like a pro, I now think this is one of the best tournis ive joined. Thanx

Scores updated. Things are now in full swing, but don't tell the Schizophrenics that (7 games completed). The Narcoleptics are still leading the way, with 46 games complete, with the Catatonics and Hypochondriacs a good bit behind with 22 and 27 games complete. I've had a little difficulty keeping things scored AND sending out new games, so expect a little bit of separation between when I score it and when I send you the resulting game-dump. I'll try to keep it manageable, but no promises, sadly.

Question for you: Do points reset between rounds, or are points cumulative due to the terminator scoring system?

Points reset each round. The Terminator score system is pretty much excessive compared to the likely case, but I wanted scores for every single possible kill total.

Scores updated. The round progresses, with some groups having all of their games in a particular setting sent out. Here's hoping that bodes well for getting things past the halfway mark, which the Narcoleptics are really close to doing.

Scores updated. The Narcoleptics have indeed passed the halfway mark, with all three groups (including the Schizophrenics!) close behind. Games should start to slow down at this point as No Spoils games become more prevalent (stalemate fodder, yeah!). Or maybe not, who knows?

Scores updated. The Narcoleptics have passed the 66 game mark, which means they have no more games to get sent out. The Hypochondriacs are close behind with 61, with the Catatonics and Schizophrenics still in the 50's. Settings are about to "close out," meaning all 24 games in the setting are scored.

Scores updated. The Narcoleptics are 66% done with the round, with the Hypochondriacs right behind. The Catatonics have passed the halfway mark, and the Schizophrenics are just shy of it. So in sum, I'm almost done making games for this round (WOOT!). 480 games is a lot to make and score. ;)

Are the Terminator points being added to the scores as you go along or at the end of the round?

I score Terminator when all Terminator games have completed. Any other system requires a lot of editing, blood, sweat, dead babies, mass genocide, and other unfortunate things. I have made a couple of exceptions to make sure at the VERY end of a round who's advancing and who's not, but that was in Round 6 and 7 of ESS:C (fewer people to worry about).

army, don't worry about the team games too much. They finish first (well, other than Assassin, which is always quickest), but they have the fewest points per person. Standard and Terminator is where the money's at, particularly if you can pull off an Overkill. So you might look bad off as the round progresses, but if you're finishing high in those two you won't be last place.

Scores updated, by the way. army is not last in his group, the Narcoleptics have finished off the Assassin setting and are 75% done with all else, both the Catatonics and Hypochondriacs need me to send out the remaining games for them, and the Schizophrenics are 3 games off of that point (I'll send them nearly everything).

Scores updated. The Narcoleptics have an absurdly high 102 games complete, closing out Quadruples in the process. The Hypochondriacs are slightly behind at 92, also closing out Quadruples, and the Catatonics are in a distant third at 83. The Schizophrenics have 69 complete, but it shouldn't take them TOO much longer than everyone else. In really good news, I just sent out all remaining games of the round, meaning it's just a little bit left until the round is done. I have flagged three members of the Narcoleptics as having Advanced as well (high scores ftw).

thanx for the tourni

Re: Every Single Setting: British Isles [Round 1 Finishing]

Postby TaCktiX on Sat Jun 05, 2010 5:57 pm

Scores updated. Hate to have this as only a weekly thing, but my schedule keeps on getting more and more compressed. I didn't even check tournament topic until today, to be honest.

Anyways, nearly everyone is in the last few games, with 114, 113, and 102 games complete in three of the groups. The Schizophrenics are at 85 and keeping it rather competitive in the group.

In other tournament news, I have lost two people from the tournament. One will count as the eliminated person for the round, the other I intend to replace with a reserve at the start of Round 2. Congratulations to those members of the Hypochondriacs advancing to the next round.
