Leaving Yourself Feedback (Status Update)

Post by Coleman »

I think it would be nice if I could leave myself feedback that is always on top that lets people know if something is up. Like if I'm going to be missing turns or whatever.

This sounds more like a "Status Update" than a feedback thing. Theoretically you could post a status update in the profile...in one of the text fields...

I think a status thing would be cool, doesn't belong in feedback

A status field would be very nice and could be quite useful. Doesn't belong on the feedback page though.

It actually would be cool to make your first feedback be from yourself to describe to others what kind of player you are....

I dont expect it to be implemented, but technically it could be useful at times.

Ie... If you cant handle a little pressure dont join..or i hate secret alliances...or even, sometimes i miss turns because of my busy schedule... I am very active in the chat, so if you dont have a strong stomach... you may want to move on....dont think you can bark orders at me in team games ...or communicate all moves in team games etc.

It isnt a bad idea at all really... it will be abused of course by some...but everything always is....

it could go in the profile, but i dont think ive ever read a profile...

If everyone described thier mode of play in their first feedback... I think Id read every one...

it could cut down on some friction between some players that just shouldnt be in a game together...

it also might be a lot of work for something that can be typed in the existing profile

xtratabasco would be a great example... in his first feedback he would type, please to not join my freestyle games if you are going to same-time your moves with your partners.... about 300 pages of forum wouldnt exist, if this warning existed... granted... im not sure he can use the feedback system right now...lol

xtra, if youre reading this, im assuming you agree.. hope you dont mind the example

AAFitz,
I like that idea. My guess is that is what the profile is for though.

I wonder what dugcarr would have put :P

Not sure this idea belongs in feedback either... perhaps a page or separate tab on your profile which describes you, so you could do things like:

1) State you are on vacation and who is taking your turns
2) Say what type of games you enjoy playing
3) Describe your playing style/whether you like alliances etc
4) List acheivements (if so desired)

The same page could have stats such as your record in certain game types eg 500 wins in 1000 doubles games - doubles win % 50%, 250 wins in 1000 singles games etc; or highest score/highest scoreboard place etc

More like a 'player profile' rather than a forum profile.

Now you can do this by writing on your own wall

but the message might get lost (or else not even read) because other people can write on your wall too
