King of the Public

Post by herndawg »

I have an idea but don't know how exactly how it would work but have thought through it a bit. It is for those who enjoy the public 8 player games. Players must host public games and their Team leader track their kills and wins. It is in effect not playing each other but competing against each other in points.

King of the Public

- All players must have all four slots open, maybe require premium if numbers change.
- Escalating cards on all.
- It would need 5 Team leaders and one Tourney Organizer.
- Each Team leader would be in charge of 7 other players who signed up in the tourney. -
- This is 6 groups of 8, making a 40 member tourney total.
- Once we have Team leaders, we would start a thread with the 5 others replying directly behind the organizer.
- Each Team leader and the Organizer would get 7 other players to their "Team". By thread response requesting to be on your team. You must OK the person unless there is a good reason.
- Each person in each group would start 4 public Terminator games with 8 players on different maps.
- So, each Team would have 24 (or more) public games going on hosted by their Team.
- You are going for the most kills in each game.
- Points for all players are, Two points for each kill and 5 points for winning the game. 19 total possible. This will not mess up the public games because only one person in the tourney is in the game hosting and the setting is Terminator so you are out to kill anyway.
- At the end of all the games the total Team points will be tallied together and checked.
- The winning team hosts 4 more games listed on a new post by the organizer and they are going against each other in points.
- You may have loosing team members joining in these pretty quickly, maybe even all of them being they will be public.
- Newbies do not count as points.
- Cooks do not count as points.
- Invite whoever you want to join in the games.
- All players can go to callouts and post games for players to join to get higher ranks but this may be harder to beat them also.
- Higher ranks will have better players joining and thus make it naturally fair.
- You just don't know who will join, if they don't make the tourney you can be assured they will be game searching the names in the groups.
- There are many good players who join these type of games all the time so it may not be as easy as you think. I host a lot of them.
- No one in other groups can join in the other groups games. It would be best just to not join any 8 player games for a couple days to make sure, or copy the player list.
- No going on other teams chat and trying to mess up their game by giving moves to the public.
- Every rule broken that gets reported and confirmed is minus 10 points in the tourney.

TEAM LEADER RESPONSIBILITIES
- As Team leader you can coach on moves only in the game chat.
- You must list all 7 Team members in your post and put a link to all their games as they activate.
- You must track the points gained by each of your players and post them.
- It will be like having your own little tourney inside of this tourney.
- Team leaders would be decided before the tourney thread begins. I have a couple people in mind already.

Well, there is what I have thought up so far. Numbers can be changed and what not. What do you think?
It could be smaller too, just one organizer with 16 players hosting games and what not, but I thought Teams with Names would be cool. The only thing I don't like is the team having to go against each other for a winner to be chosen. I suppose you could just have a Winning Team, or have them battle it out in one 8 player game.
:geek:

Any thoughts

very complex structure... took me a sec to get through it but.. i think this is whats going on.. correct me if im wrong..

6 mini tournaments.. each tourny is basically a "group" with one leader who coaches all the players and helps his team win the most points (points being if you knock someone out, you get 2 points bla bla bla)... so each group member (8 in total including the leader) makes 4 eight-player public escalating terminator games .. and the group whose members got the most points is the winning group?

and yes id love to be considered for a team leader hahaha.. if theres space..
and i think the maximum points per game is 19 not 21

yea, 19
I guess there is only 7 players to kill in a 8 player game. That makes sense.
19 total possible per game it will be.
Any ideas on flaws in my thinking cause if I got that wrong there is surely got to be more. :D
You are locked in as a team leader when and if this goes down.
Thanks

Sounds like a pretty complex idea to me, but if it is going to be run contingent on public games and playing with players who have absolutely no clue they are playing in games that are involved in this competition then it can't be considered a tournament in our eyes. You won't be able to get privileges for such a thing because it would be far to difficult to track if they were being used properly and not being abused.

Thanks for commenting and giving the straight up. I understand these points for sure and will think on this a while on how it might be done in call-outs or clan challenge or something else.

Using it as a competition in Callouts would be an excellent idea if you as me. :)
