Would this count as cheating?

Post by cpurcell »

Just wondering, would someone be called out if they got their friend into CC, and then played them alot in 1v1 private games and won almost all the time? Would they be accused of cheating and having multis?

They might be accused, but if they're both playing to win, and one player just sucks, it should be fine.

The person might be accused of cheating, but if both accounts are not the same person and are playing from different computers, then it should be ok. The multi hunters are pretty good about picking out when it is actually a multi and when it is actually two different people playing. A good suggestion would be to not play large singles games (3-8 player) with this other person, since it can be perceived as unfair. You can play 1v1 or team games against this person.

I'm just trying to avoid getting banned unfairly, but I'm trying to get my bro into CC. If we both used the same comp., or even different ones, but from the same house would that matter?

You would probably have the same IP, so it might look suspicious, but again, as long as you're playing fairly, the hunters would be able to differentiate between cheating and proper play.

There is no reason why your brother cannot play on a same computer as you.

* However, I would contact mods, and inform them that there will be 2 or 3 players playing from the same computer.

* I personally, would not play with my brother/sister/spouse/friend, in a same game against other players. That can be perceived as an unannounced secret alliance by other players.

* If you must play against your family member, start a password protected Private game.

* If you wish to play with family member, you may join a doubles game, where you and your brother are on the same team.

Okay, I had basically the same thoughts. I just wanted to make sure that if and when he starts playing that we don't get confused as a muli and get unjustly banned. Thanks for the info guys.

This is probably the best all around advice someone could give to you. As you started this thread that's probably another plus in your favor showing you just like playing the game. The good thing about playing family is you avoid bitter feelings after the game's over for the most part. Some people here take the game way too seriously
