Telling Others When to Take Turns

Postby owenshooter on Sun Jun 01, 2008 4:57 pm

don't you hate it when you are in a game with a player that finds it necessary to PM you to take your turn, despite your having more than sufficient time to take your turn? i just received a PM to take a turn, and the clock had only clicked down to 23 hours and 15 seconds remaining on my turn. if you want REAL TIME, ask for REAL TIME. if you want SPEED, than play SPEED. i hate when people PM me when to play or how to play. afterall, this player doesn't know if me and my partner prefer to coordinate our turns on skype together or if we swap ideas before our moves, etc... simply let me play my game how i see fit, and i will allow you to play your game as you see fit. does this practice annoy anyone else?-0

I'm in full agreement with you my dear owenshooter. I've got 24 hours to take my turns by RULE, and I shall do so if my personal obligations or schedule requires me to take 23:30 just to get it done.

I've been known to send back not-so-nice replies to said PMs and frequently will not even go take my turn if a player has the audacity to do such a thing.

Sometimes, I'm just a damn cranky robot.

just did the same. sometimes, people have other things going on in CC, like clan boards, clan votes, gearing up for clan challenges, dealing with PM's, fielding questions about membership, dealing with the weekly mod witch hunts against BpB members... you know, stuff that a casual member doesn't have to deal with... throw a 4 year old returning from swimming with his mother that wants to eat, and i just may not be interested in taking my turns, because i can't give them my full attention.-0

p.s.-i was told to "f'in chill out" in response to my pm... whatever...

What usually happens is that a noob will join a freestyle game, take his turn early, and then comment in the game log a million times over when he can play again. "waaah, why can't you guys go already????"

Just tell him to PM me, and I will sign with your password adn take your turn. But don't worry, I will do it randomly, not strategically. That way we aren't violating the well worded, unwritten rule.

HA HA! Now I will make the Twill-blotter another week! That should take up some more of your precious time!!

My internet connection just forced me to wait 23:30 before I could take my turn.

Better yet, the asshole who tells you to pick up the pace in a speed game.
I GOT 5 ON THE CLOCK, you tard. Perhaps if you used your full five on .....I dunno......perhaps stratagy? You might win a few.

Then he threatens to post neg. feedback because I'm dragging out the game.

Drives me nuts.

This week I had a guy get pissed at me for not taking my turns right after him. 2 player game and freestyle lol. I told him to learn the game and if he wants a rt speed game then buy premium. He even threatened to give me a negative for not taking the turn right away. Hopefully he just puts me on ignore. What a whiner.

oops... missed that turn... sigh, that game that was already over... i hate when you get caught in traffic while doing errands and can't make it for your turns. especially when you
know you are going to take turns later and don't want to get a baby sitter, because then you are a cheat. the guy was nice enough to let me know he is debating
if he is going to give me a neg for missing a turn... sadly, he is a regular in the GD and many of you know him...-0

a sitter because i'm playing my games later.. however, he did give me a neg... but, here is a PM to show you how abusive

To answer your question Vace, yes, I did apologize. I see owen didn't say that since he knew it'd hurt his argument. Just to announce it to more than just owen, I didn't intend on just straight up telling him to take his turn. I was online, bored, he was online, his turn was open, so I decided to ask him to take his turn. That's all that happened. I don't know why I projected my request in the way that I did, but that's what happened. Owen is completely overreacting with all of this, IMO.
