Most of my flys these days are button flys... never really bothered me.

Indeed. I had an unpleasnat flashback of Mrs Rogers whilst tucking into my curry the other nite.

I would have to say the zipper. It was really revolutionary in its day. Buttons were everywhere, so think of how long it would take to unbutton your trousers in the men's room compared to the quick zipper.

So penicillin was discovered at the same time the first bread cutting machine sliced it's first loaf.
And wasn't penicillin first discovered on bread?
