40+ beers is not that special. I sporadically go to a bar in amsterdam serving over 150 beers or so.

Most of those are fucking weird. Raspberry flavoured beer is just...strange, though my friend seems to like it. but when they serve you some of the finest belgian and german beers all is forgiven.

I was actually referring to the brewery, not the pub.
It's a little unusual for a brewery to brew that many different beers, albeit after checking their website some are really just minor variations of the same style.
Pubs are certainly different; same here in the States.
There's a bar (not a brew pub) very near my house that offers over 280 different types of beer from around the world. 40 of which are on tap......

So I thought it was really cool to see a small local English brewery brewing so many different beers.
Another example of why more of the English need to get out to their local pub.

Iz, my point was that the big breweries has a large chain of pubs that they own. they keep their prices high in these pubs, where we know they could easily lower the price, but don't.

I know. At least they do experiment, though often the results are not quite to my taste. I once had a beer with orange flavours, and there are some with cherry and peach flavours which are not entirely bad.

I don't like these fancy types, but I guess the more beers the better.

Which is why the English Pub must be saved.
The English produce a variety of ales.
Barley Wine, bitters, brown ales, old ales........

Both Porter & IPA styles were born in England!

Do you know the best thing about it?
Work sticks a credit card behind the bar and we all have 2-3 pints on a Friday lunchtime, bought by the company!
This is the way to get the best out of your work force I've ever witnessed in a company. It's a great firm to work for!

The Hopback Brewery in Hampshire used to do (and may well still do) a gorgeous coriander beer.

I would bottle the essence if I was King, then flog it in a British pub.

I would call it Suggs-in-a-bottle, and sell it for premium.
